There is a chance unhealthy people can die if they catch this bug. No reason to shut down the economy.
These people filming are pissed they are being lied to by the media.

Doesn’t have to be tens of thousands, just a few and everyone else falls in line.
I went to a major New York City hospital, New York Presbyterian, myself. I’m very familiar with the place. It was dead.
I suspect that most if not all of the people who have been declared dead via corona were already in the hospital for other reasons.

I totally agree that we shouldn't have shut down the economy and have stated so many times in these threads on the Coronavirus. This is not about whether we should shut down the economy but about whether the medical staffs all over the U.S. and planet Earth are lying about patients coming to the hospital.

Let’s look at the timeline.
From what we’ve been told, Corona started in China in December and by early January Wuhan was shut down. Meanwhile, New York City health officials in the middle of February were encouraging people to go to parade in Chinatown? Do you think they would’ve done this if hospitals were being overrun with sick people coming in with corona.
Remember, symptoms are supposed to appear within 5 to 14 days.
Do you not think that many of the people currently coming into the hospitals are a result of the nonstop bludgeoning to which we’ve been subjected for the past month. Everyone with a cold or sore throat thinks they have corona?
-
In Washington, they already know how this is going to end. Flu deaths always drop off dramatically in April. This allows them to claim victory because of the actions that were taken.

Of course people are showing up to the hospital with sore throats thinking they have Coronavirus but that would make the hospitals more full not less. My sister is a nurse and they have people with Covid19 in rooms right now and we live in a sparsely populated area.

The U.S.N.S. Comfort is basically empty
According to the New York Times, the massive hospital ship that President Trump touted as a victory for the federal response to the crisis hasn’t done much good since it arrived earlier this week. As of Thursday, the Navy confirmed that only 20 patients had been placed on the ship — out of 1,000 available beds.

The first minor in NYC with a case of the coronavirus has died
The city reported the death of its first patient under the age of 18 on Monday. Like the vast majority of patients who have passed away, the city reported that the minor had an underlying condition. Of the 790 deaths in the city, 777 patients had underlying conditions, which, according to the city’s definition, include diabetes, lung disease, cancer, immunodeficiency, heart disease, hypertension, kidney disease, and asthma.

It's a good thing I trust the media because this 12, 13 or 14 year old kid keeps dying in different countries and changing from boy to girl.

The article on BBC about this state’s that because it’s a navy vessel there is significant red tape about what type of patients they can let on. It is also set up to handle people who are trauma patients from war wounds so it’s not set up for comfort (even though that’s the name).

Remember, a few months ago the media kept telling us that the Ukraine was the most important thing in the world. Fast forward to today nobody gives a fuck about the Ukraine.

You would think in such an urgent crisis, they would be able to cut away that red tape. Guess not.

Just Ukraine. No need for “the”... it’s not the Canada... USA needs “the” because our name indicates a union of states. Like the United Kingdom
Just busting balls man. Lately have had too much fckn time here. I can’t understand how dudes like SF are on here literally 16 hours a day

So tens of thousands of medical personnel are in on this conspiracy? ::)
A friend of mine is a respiratory therapist in Michigan. He was told me how he lost a completely healthy 72 year old women to the virus in less than 18 hours last week.
He was telling me how stressful it is because this is so deadly. He explained all the precautions he’s taking and what the hospital had everyone doing: changing work clothes outside their house, putting them straight in the wash and bleaching his shower immediately after getting out.
I asked how he was disinfecting his car and grocery items he buys from the store, and he said those weren’t being done and he hadn’t even thought of it.
He also said I should be aware that anyone who gets this WILL have lung damage on some level. So I asked about the NBA and other sports stars that have been medically cleared as recovered and he obviously couldn’t speak on those cases, he could only tell me what he was being taught.
And I think this is the real issue. Medical professionals rely on information from the CDC, they will not speak against those instructions (if they work for a hospital maybe it’s different for independent physicians). A lot of the “fear” is created at the professional level because they are sharing what they’re told and because they are so deeply involved they can’t look outside that bubble.

That's very odd. My brother works (Weill Cornell) there as a Gastroenterologist and is there daily. He tells me that all of their ICUs are full with COVID patients and they no longer have capacity by way of their vents (all of which are at capacity via double venting to serve 2 patients). It's supposedly gotten so bad that they are now diverting their patients to the Hospital for Special Surgery due to capacity.
Am I missing something?

Could be. I’m just going by the activity I saw around the hospital and I even walked up to the emergency room check in. I would defer to your brother as he’s actually inside.
What does strike me odd about that is that there really haven’t been that many cases in Manhattan. Most been in the Bronx and Queens and Brooklyn:

Moreover, how can you even tell that it’s really a corona case. Don’t these underlying conditions require hospital care as well?

Not sure, but could be related to both demographics and possibly their dense population as compared to Manhattan, not to mention poverty levels.
Queens, as you know, has a very racially diverse population. The Bronx is probably the poorest and has more minorities than any other Borough I think.
Either way, as per Cuomo, NYC is hopefully reaching the apex in about 7 days. If true, maybe we can slowly get back to normal (work).
Stay safe,

There are just so many inconsistencies that it’s hard for me to take anything at face value.
As you know there were no restrictions in place in New York City for December January and February. Why were the hospitals not overrun then?
-

, include diabetes, lung disease, cancer, immunodeficiency, heart disease, hypertension, kidney disease, and asthma.
Best guess here is that most of the aforementioned conditions don't necessarily require hospitalization, unless they are exacerbated and causing pathological effects.
Diabetes is very common and millions of Americans have it and manage it at home. Lung disease (say COPD, Asthma, Bronchitis) can also be managed at home. Cancer, depending on the stage, can also be handled at home with outpatient chemo infusions. Immunodeficiency is a broad term, but millions of Americans have HIV and don't require constant hospitalization (again, immunodeficiency can also include other conditions like cancer). Heart disease is another broad term, but things like hypertension are managed at home, unless you have a hypertensive crisis. Kidney disease can be devastating, but even people with end stage renal failure are able to get outpatient dialysis. Asthma rarely requires hospitalization if I had to guess, unless they have an exacerbation which their inhaler can't treat.
Again, I'm no doctor, so please don't go by my guesses. What I do read online is that having certain risk factors can complicate your outcomes if infected by COVID-19 (obesity, heart disease, lung disease, immunosuppressed etc).

Maybe because the first case of COVID-19 in New York was confirmed on March 1.

Maybe because the first case of COVID-19 in New York was confirmed on March 1.
And why is that if the people who supposedly spread the virus left China in December and it takes 5 to 14 days for symptoms to appear?
There’s just no way anybody can plug up all the holes in this story.

This is retarded. Hospitals are quarantine zones.
Social distancing, visitors, plus all the numpties who usually clog the system with useless shit are not showing up.
Obviously outside of hospitals and entrances it will be ghost towns. Meanwhile inside it's bedlam.
Go take a video inside......oh wait.... you can't..... or.... you won't in fear of getting sick. It really is that simple.
There is no conspiracy here, just people willfully ignoring simple explanations.
