For the past two years Coleman has been first, Cuter second, and Badell third. Many people seem 2 believe Coleman is nearing the end of his run and in most ways I agree with them on this. However, and this is just my opinion, I dont think Cutler deserves the automatic 2nd place spot he seems to have been guarranteed these last few years. whether u like him or not, Ronnie Coleman is a great and amazing bodybuilder and has pushed the limits greatly. In 04, alot of people questioned Badell's high placing at 3rd and speculated it was a gift. Badell proved them wrong by placing third again in 05 with an amazing physique.this next coment may get me in some hot water. I think at this moment in time Badell is the one who can either give coleman the biggest run fo his money, as he did in 05 even tho the judges refused to compare he and coleman, or the one who should rightfully take over once coleman steps down. no disrespect 2 cutler, as he is an amazing bodybuilder, but to say he could beat Badell, or for that matter take Coleman, with his bloated gut he was sporting at the 05 olympia, is ridiculous.this is just my opinion. I think Badell was over looked at the 05 olympia and was not properly compared to the champ.I also think if Badell comes in in the right condition in 06 he could possibly top coleman or take the title whn coleman retires. What do u think?hit me back.

I dont think Jay's gut is any more bloated than Badell's or Coleman's
-
Jays gut came from th carb up.... He has been seen many times since with a tight midsection ( for a man of his size) You forget how huge Cutler is. Badell had a worse gut than cutler and learned to control it... There is no way badell is better than Jay.

Baddel is like 5'1'' and half as muscular as Jay. ::)
-
Badell is hugely over rated, he wont succeed ronnie
-
The top three at the 05 Olympia were all sporting guts , so its the lesser of 3 evils of you will and Badell is getting better ( so is Jay ) but if or once we see Coleman retire or lose , Badell may be Cutlers bridesmaid like Jay was to Ronnie .

This says it all.

Remember that Badell never really "beat" Dexter Jackson. The one time was at the 2004 Olympia thanks to the challenge round. Everyone knows that was BS. The only reason Badell took 3rd in 2005 was, again, because of the challenge round. Beating Gunter in the 4th round was based on nothing but his "winning" the challenge round. If you look at the score sheets, Badell was never really in contention for third in either year. Therefore, the real number 3 is the Blade himself. This was reaffirmed at the 2006 ASC where Dex raped Badell.
That brings us to who will succeed Ronnie. The easy money would be on Jay, but I'm not so sure. Jay might be big but his conditioning is no where near that of Jackson. I suspect that he'll fall victim to the same circumstances that killed Nasser when Dorian retired after his win in '97. El Sonbaty was the closest physically to Dorian and when yates left, he was out of place. The same will be true of Jay. Dexter is far too complete to lose to Cutler in an Olympia without Ronnie. Jay has no one to compare to in terms of physique type. Right now, the Olympia is being marketed as a clash between two people - two mass monsters - Jay and Ronnie. With Coleman gone, the discrepancy between Jay's conditioning and that of Dex will mean "lights out" for Jay.
Don't get me wrong: Jay is a tremendous bb and a great person. The problem is that I just can't see him wiining without Ronnie to stand next to. It could turn out to be like the 2003 Ironman where he was ridiculously bigger than everyone else on stage so he was the obvious winner. Either way, you can count Badell out of the mix. His gut destorys his physique and he just doesn't have the cool attitude of the Blade. It'll definetly be interesting to see who can come out on top. I wish them all the best, but my money is on Dexter Jackson. Of course he still ahs to wait for Big Ron to retire . . .

Monster delusions ::)

How about Cutler winning the best wheels award at the 05 Olympia?Personally, I think that was shamefull as Branch Warren and Mustafa Muhamed had much better leg development than Cutler, they just didnt finish in the top 5.And although I respect ur opinions on the cutler-badell debate, I still think Badell is a much better bodybuilder than Cutler and it was just wrong he(badell) wasnt compared 2 Ronnie.I guess thats what these boards r for though.however, whomever brought up Dexter Jackson taking the throne makes a good point that had not ocured to me, although i dont think politics will allow Dex to become mr. O.good feedback tho.

i agree with big poppa j completely jay has been second becuse he the closest to ronnie and they need to justify it right now i could see dexter possibly takin it after ronnie

Just look at the Olympia posters - It's the Jay and Ronnie Show - without Ronnie, Jay doesn't fit - where does he go? Dex will take over and reinvent the standard.

I doubt it. Do people really want a 5' midget with monster A taper to be the new standard. Highly, highly unlikely.
-
I predict.......Dexter will jump to the PDI.
-
Victor will come in and win the Olympia
-
None of the big guys today can come in as ripped as Dex (except Ronnie). Once coleman retires, the ultimate mass will be gone and ridiculous conditioning will be the new standard. Dex has the size to be compettiive with bigger bodybuilders but he rapes them in overall detail and conditioning. Standing next to Dex and Gustavo, Jay won't look as good as he does now becuase the disparity will be more pronounced without the parade of mass monsters to distract the judges.
Vic won't be able to catch Dex yet becuase he still hasnt mastered his conditioning. The one thing you can expect, other than ronnie winning, is that The Blade will come is sharper and more cut than anyone else. Martinez has a good shot though, but not for a few more years, even after Ronnie retires. Of course, dex is like 36 or 37 so time might be running out for him . . .

I wouldn't mind Gunter being the next Mr. O after Ronnie hangs it all up. He's a huge bb and has a winning smile to boot. Marketability? Fuggetaboutit!

-
pretend you dont know the placings at MR O, or the status quo rankings. look at the video, or the pics, and you are really telling me badell is better than jay? look at any pose from the back. game over. jay is better than badell. that was badell's best showing ever, taht was not jays.

all i know is when coleman retires, there is no way in hell dexter would b mr olympia.its a tradition of mr olympia in crowing the mass monster as mr olympia.its pretty evident whne lee haney became mr olympia at a bodybweight of 240-245lbs.he won 8 consecutive olympias....his successor dorian yates brought in the new mass level and ended up winning 6 consecutive sandows at a bodyweight of 260lbs.and we have current mr olympia ronnie coleman who has also won 8 consecutive olympia and reaching a peak bodyweight of 296lbs and an average weight of 280lbs....its inevitabily a mass monster would succeed ronnie coleman..so its either gonna b victor martinez or jay cutler or any other mass monster....olympia winner will and always b a mass monster...NO WAY DEXTER OR ANY 1 LIKE DEXTER IS GOING 2 WIN OLYMPIA.....EVER!!!!!!!!!.NO AESTHETIC ASS HOLE IS EVER GONNA B CROWNED MR OLYMPIA................E ND OF STORY!!!!!
-
?? This is written by a spaz. Zane and Dickerson and co succeeded the Oliva/Shwarzeneggar era. This stuff comes in waves, like Republicanism, for better or for worse.

Don't you see though? The trend stops with Ronnie Coleman. The pattern you just described was one mass monster out-massing the next. Jay Cutler, a man 2 inches shorter and 10-30 lbs lighter than Coleman can't carry on the legacy. There is no way that Cutler can ever succeed Ronnie for mass - perhaps no one ever will. The fact is the trend is no longer sustainable and thus it will implode, leaving a new standard to be set. The standard of mass may live on in the future, but Jay's physical limitations prevent him from being the one.
GUNTER on the other hand can. He's taller than Ronnie and heavier. He also has the potential to put on even more size because of his frame. Gunter is 6'1. Jay is 5'9. Gunter weighs 300 lbs. Jay weighs 270. Still think Jay will win?

I've noticed that Badell doesn't look as good posing by himself. When they start the comparisons though, he knows how to hit the mandatory poses and tends to stand out when in shape (as seen at the Olympia challenge round). He's not as big as Cutler or as conditioned as Dexter, but a combination of the two. I wouldn't be surprised to see him succeed Ronnie.

the only problem with that is he can't beat Dexter - and don't bring up the 2004 Olympia because without the Challenge round, he would have been 4th. Consider the 2006 ASC where he couldnt touch The Blade and EVERY other contest the two were in together
-
Jay is going to be a serious threat as long as he keeps growing, and from the recent pics I've seen of him, he's still growing. I'm not a big Cutler fan, but I do realize he's really packing on some size as if he's ready to be next. Unfortunately, all the shit he's taking might kill him before he's crowned.

dude how can u even compare gunter to jay when gunter had simply shitty looking legs at the 2005 lympia.i think gunter was given a huge gift when he was placed 4th.jay on the other hand had legs twice his size......jay considering his height carries more quality mass.since gunter is tall, most of the weight is dude hiis being tall.so jays 270lbs versus gunters 300lbs are much bigger than gunter wat so ever.i think after ronnie its either gonna b jay or victor martinez.markus ruhl will outmuscle gunter in this years olympia.....MARK MY WORDS....so my early predictions for the olympia r
1.ronnie coleman
2.jay cutler
3.victor martinez
4.markus ruhl
5.denniis james
6.gustavo badell
hell, gunter won't even make in the top ten....hes all hype and no muscle

Dexter would have had his hands full against Gustavo at the '05 Olympia. I don't think it's clear cut that one is better than the other right now. The Arnold was not a good comparison because Gustavo was clearly off his Olympia form.

True enough - but Dex is still too much for Badell to handle.
I actually wouldnt mind Gustavo being Mr. Olympia. Before he seemed like another cocky Mexican. But after watching his clip in the BFTO 2005, he's actually a very funny and genuine person. He has a good physique, he loves his family, and he works hard. He doenst deserve to beat Ronnie by any stretch, but when Coleman retires, it could be a fight between him and Dex for the title. My money is on the Blade, but you never know . . .

Dexter Jackson is over rated. Lets look at the facts here. he has an A taper. Zero calves, high lats and is 5 foot 2. I am sorry if you are like 5'5 being thick and muscular is just not impressive. Before you knock me for getting on short dudes it is a genetic flaw just like a tall guy with a wide waist (Gunter).
On the plus side he has great arms is ripped to the core and has great detail.
He is the best little guy (speaking of little as in pro terms) but really could not be considered the best body on the planet.
He sports a baby gut that you pick up if he forgets to tighten it. He is not better than Cutler.
Next Mr O.....
Toney Freeman
-
I think Jay is constantly under-rated. Fact is he dwarfs everyone but Coleman. He now has arguably the best back in the sport with Ronnie being his only competition.
-
Next Mr O.....
Toney Freeman
Imagine a Freeman-Schlierkamp 1-2. Who's gonna touch them? Once Ronnie's gone they'll absolutely dwarf everyone. Hell, the next guy down is like 5'9 1/2. U Can't touch this!

LOl that pic is hilarious.
Gunter's muscularity with Toneys frame would equal the best physique ever.
I think Toney can still make a push for the O. His pec looks almost perfect and he seems to be putting on size while keeping that x frame.
The dude is a monster!
-
dunno but martinez getting 5th was agift he has early signs of pa;umboisms from the rear
-
Vic looked great about 2 years ago. From that point on he has managed to totally f**k his physique and negate any chance of winning the O that he had.
-

I will bring it up. Last time I checked, 3rd place is higher than 4th place. Like it or not, Badell beat Jackson at the 2004 Olympia. Badell knows he can beat Jackson (and thanks to last year's Challenge Round), he knows he can beat both Coleman and Cutler.

What is Lee Haney, chopped liver?
The reason Haney got the nickname, "The Awesome One" is because he is one of the few bodybuilders that combines BOTH mass and aesthetics for a nearly unbeatable package. I might also add that Haney made FLEX's All-Time Aesthetic physique list (I believe he's #15).
Plus, Zane, Dickerson, Bannout, and Scott already have their Sandows, as well (and you can't take them away) ;D .
We don't know who's going to be the next Mr. Olympia. Heading into 1998, virtually NOBODY thought Ronnie Coleman would walk away as the new champion, especially since he placed 9th the year before and have never made the top 5. Cutler could do it; but then again, Kevin Levrone placed 2nd on four occassions as well, without ever winning the title.
