Don't you see though? The trend stops with Ronnie Coleman. The pattern you just described was one mass monster out-massing the next. Jay Cutler, a man 2 inches shorter and 10-30 lbs lighter than Coleman can't carry on the legacy. There is no way that Cutler can ever succeed Ronnie for mass - perhaps no one ever will. The fact is the trend is no longer sustainable and thus it will implode, leaving a new standard to be set. The standard of mass may live on in the future, but Jay's physical limitations prevent him from being the one.

GUNTER on the other hand can. He's taller than Ronnie and heavier. He also has the potential to put on even more size because of his frame. Gunter is 6'1. Jay is 5'9. Gunter weighs 300 lbs. Jay weighs 270. Still think Jay will win?

Jay is going to be a serious threat as long as he keeps growing, and from the recent pics I've seen of him, he's still growing. I'm not a big Cutler fan, but I do realize he's really packing on some size as if he's ready to be next. Unfortunately, all the shit he's taking might kill him before he's crowned.

dude how can u even compare gunter to jay when gunter had simply shitty looking legs at the 2005 lympia.i think gunter was given a huge gift when he was placed 4th.jay on the other hand had legs twice his size......jay considering his height carries more quality mass.since gunter is tall,most of the weight is dude hiis being tall.so jays 270lbs versus gunters 300lbs are much bigger than gunter wat so ever.i think after ronnie its either gonna b jay or victor martinez.markus ruhl will outmuscle gunter in this years olympia.....MARK MY WORDS....so my early predictions for the olympia r

Dexter would have had his hands full against Gustavo at the '05 Olympia.  I don't think it's clear cut that one is better than the other right now.  The Arnold was not a good comparison because Gustavo was clearly off his Olympia form.

True enough - but Dex is still too much for Badell to handle.

I actually wouldnt mind Gustavo being Mr. Olympia. Before he seemed like another cocky Mexican. But after watching his clip in the BFTO 2005, he's actually a very funny and genuine person. He has a good physique, he loves his family, and he works hard. He doenst deserve to beat Ronnie by any stretch, but when Coleman retires, it could be a fight between him and Dex for the title. My money is on the Blade, but you never know . . .

Dexter Jackson is over rated. Lets look at the facts here. he has an A taper. Zero calves, high lats and is 5 foot 2. I am sorry if you are like 5'5 being thick and muscular is just not impressive. Before you knock me for getting on short dudes it is a genetic flaw just like a tall guy with a wide waist (Gunter).


On the plus side he has great arms is ripped to the core and has great detail.


He is the best little guy (speaking of little as in pro terms) but really could not be considered the best body on the planet.

He sports a baby gut that you pick up if he forgets to tighten it. He is not better than Cutler.

I will bring it up. Last time I checked, 3rd place is higher than 4th place. Like it or not, Badell beat Jackson at the 2004 Olympia. Badell knows he can beat Jackson (and thanks to last year's Challenge Round), he knows he can beat both Coleman and Cutler.

What is Lee Haney, chopped liver?

The reason Haney got the nickname, "The Awesome One" is because he is one of the few bodybuilders that combines BOTH mass and aesthetics for a nearly unbeatable package. I might also add that Haney made FLEX's All-Time Aesthetic physique list (I believe he's #15).

Plus, Zane, Dickerson, Bannout, and Scott already have their Sandows, as well (and you can't take them away) .


We don't know who's going to be the next Mr. Olympia. Heading into 1998, virtually NOBODY thought Ronnie Coleman would walk away as the new champion, especially since he placed 9th the year before and have never made the top 5. Cutler could do it; but then again, Kevin Levrone placed 2nd on four occassions as well, without ever winning the title.
