I don't see any point in lying about the good and bad in my life - and because COVID is a shared experience, I find it easy to admit to having lock-down depression, because it's something a lot of people are going through.

Yes, but it saves a lot of time picking out colors. ;) I tried five different samples of paint colors for the master bedroom and bath. Funny because I ended up choosing one that will probably look the same as what was already there to everyone but me. In the mean time, every wall has patches of these colors because I wanted to see how they'd look from different angles and in different light.

It looks like a nice place, Matt. Quite a step up from the house you had with no driveway a decade or so ago. Are those vinyl, laminate or engineered hardwood flooring? That colorway is really popular right now. Judging from the other finishes, your home looks to be pretty new or recently remodeled.

Presently, I am working on upgrading the master bath in my house. It hasn't been remodeled except for fresh paint since the house was built in the late 70's. I'm on the home stretch of a whole house remodel that has taken a very long time. Most recently, I had the carpet in the downstairs bedrooms taken out and hardwood floors installed. It set me back 15 grand. But now the only carpet is on the stairs, all the other floors aside from the bathrooms are 3/4" Birch hardwood.
According to Zillow's estimate, my place is among the highest priced in the immediate area, which is not good for resale. Fortunately, houses move really fast right now because no body is selling. It's definitely a seller's market. If and when a place does come up for sale, there's often a bidding war and the home sells in a day or two. I'm not looking to sell. I put a lot on effort and money into making this place just the way I wanted it. Now, it's time to just enjoy the fruits of my labor.

I live pretty modestly. Basically, all I need is a gym membership, my car/insurance, and maybe Amazon Prime. My low-carb diet is quite inexpensive.
I like to spoil my kids, but I don't need much myself. I DO enjoy my 75" TV. But I'm more than comfortable.
I used to let people live with me for free at my old house you mentioned...but I was also taken advantage of.
And yes, the house is brand new. Construction was completed in 2019. I'm extremely grateful to have tenants who prepaid one year in advance - in Ontario, our premier has now made it so rent does not need to be paid until "COVID ends". ::)

I was going to say - it's freezing out! Then I checked online, and saw that it's only -16C [+3F] here. But then I saw that it's -25C [-13F] with the windchill. So it actually is pretty cold!

I was flabbergasted to hear a house like mine is something like $2 million in Toronto. I heard Vancouver is super expensive too.
I had a nice little routine: going to the gym, spending as much time with my kids as possible, and catching lots of IFBB expos.
Seeing so many pros die young sort of turned me away from IFBB bodybuilding, and now - gyms are closed.
Take it from me - while it is nice to live comfortably, not have to worry about bills, and live life on your own terms, a few things are more important:
Health, family, and good friendships. IMO.
Health includes mental health, and I'll say it - my mental health has taken a tumble due to the lock-down and curfew in Ontario.
I'm lucky. I'm blessed. Don't ever let me tell you otherwise. But man...do I want a gym!
I have to say, Josh - regarding you hitting the gym hard...I'm jealous! I would LOVE that right now.

I suffer from claustrophobia and have asthma. Do you think I could get a doctor's excuse to let me forego mask wearing? How about the fact that the combination of hearing aids which sit on the back of my ears and the ear pieces on my glasses getting entangled in the elastic which goes around the ear to hold the mask on and glasses with fog up so bad from my hot breath that I literally can't see.
There's been several times that I've nearly lost the hearing aids because removing the mask pulled them off my ears and I didn't immediately realize it. I've had to pick them up off the pavement in parking lots several times. Now I make a point to taking the mask off after I'm in the car. It's a good thing I have ears, otherwise wearing all that shit would be an even bigger problem. ;D

In life, you just get what you get. I got jack shit growing up in the ghetto but I took advantage of what was there. Went to the library every day at 7am to read programming books and left at 6pm when the last bus went home checking out 5 more books. Didnt wear Jordan's or Nike clothes. Wore Etonics and Kmart clothes so I could purchase a computer. Bought a 20 year old 13in black and white TV for 15 bucks so I could watch educational shows like Computer Chronicles on PBS instead of watching the Cosby Show that my mom and brother watched along with other shit.
Everything I do today is hardly different than when I was a kid. Not wealthy but didnt end up like the rest of my neighborhood. The library is still free and no longer segregated...no excuses. People in Africa have less resources and getting college degrees

Note the blackout blind in my room. The level of mess you see is standard. It's the only room I "live" in, really, and I never clean it. I've resolved my issue of being messy by not having much stuff. No stuff = no mess.
Also note: it's not like my room is rife with biological waste or anything anything. Just clutter, some clothes on the ground, stuff like that.
My thought process is: "Will the mess level of my room negatively impact my health?" If the answer is no...I honestly don't care if it's messy. Plus the lack of stuff wouldn't take long to clean up:

My bedroom is the messiest, but so empty that it could be clean in 15 minutes - spotless in 60. I spend 90% of my time there, so the rest of my house stays in good shape.
Removing four car-loads of belongings to storage worked wonders. One day it hit me that I NEVER used 90% of what I owned more than once every few years. I'm an ~8-minute drive to my storage area, in case I need anything.

It's empty - to prevent it from becoming a pigsty. The correlation between autism and mess is HUGE - a cliche. We are notoriously messy. Borderline hoarders, IMO. That's when I decided to live in a mostly empty home.

You know, booty - I really didn't expect that at all. Thank you for saying that. I find that the whole calling someone racist in response to talking about racial topics is almost a conditioned response, and the conversation just goes nowhere.

My bedroom is the messiest, but so empty that it could be clean in 15 minutes - spotless in 60. I spend 90% of my time there, so the rest of my house stays in good shape.
Removing four car-loads of belongings to storage worked wonders. One day it hit me that I NEVER used 90% of what I owned more than once every few years. I'm an ~8-minute drive to my storage area, in case I need anything.

I always feel like if I attempt anything to make my place look better, I'll muck it up - so I default to plain/drab.
Sort of like Mark Wahlberg in FEAR. Someone said he had a 1990's look, and pointed to his large belt buckle, but I was like "How can you go wrong with a form-fitting black shirt, and a pair of jeans?"
I have zero sense of style. I may well improve my home interior, but if that happens, you can bet someone else did it for me.
During COVID, 90% of my time was spent between my room and my adjacent bathroom. Honestly, it was the paranoid people who made me not want to leave. When gyms reopened, I got scolded for SITTING on a bench between sets.
I was like "You know what? F*ck this - call me when everyone gets this collective Canadian stick out of their ass."
My friend said she saw a woman honk at and give an angry look at another woman for driving all four of her kids to the same place at the same time. ::)
If people in my city want to be THAT scared, whatever.

Note the blackout blind in my room. The level of mess you see is standard. It's the only room I "live" in, really, and I never clean it. I've resolved my issue of being messy by not having much stuff. No stuff = no mess.
Also note: it's not like my room is rife with biological waste or anything anything. Just clutter, some clothes on the ground, stuff like that.
My thought process is: "Will the mess level of my room negatively impact my health?" If the answer is no...I honestly don't care if it's messy. Plus the lack of stuff wouldn't take long to clean up:

You don't know what I meant. My posting that he was a "character" was in reference to his infamous "weaponzzz or mass distruction" posts, which included photos of his arsenal.
If I remember correctly, someone on Getbig accused Pillow talk of being Mathew Howard, a man from the UK who was accused of having child pornography on his computer. After that accusation, he ceased posting on Getbig.

That may be what it means to you. If you took the time to look up what it means when you call someone a character, you'd find out that it can be a negative or positive remark about someone.
Prime you are wrong here and should accept what people are telling you. There is no way a normal man would describe a pedo as a 'character'. It is a poor choice of words and does not reflect well on you. I sometimes feel sorry for you because of the stick you get on here, not this time you can't defend the indefensible.

This is a guy that told his wife to go fck herself and dumped her off to suffer through chemotherapy and said ON HERE that he couldn’t be bothered to sit with the dying old hag when he could leave her to suffer while he went out looking for glory holes.
I am sure his kids - if they have children - are very careful to keep them safely away from nasty old granddad. I’m pretty certain that any children he had have nothing to do with him.
You be 100% certain that Prime saw nothing at all wrong with a little man/boy action. Fortunately he isn’t my dad - or Id have “accidentally” killed him the very first time he left my mother alone to suffer through chemo. Fortunately - my father like his before him was a warrior when needed and just a brilliant & wise man now. He truly loves my mom and would never cheat on her ESPECIALLY while she suffered and died like Prime did. But then again - my dad would never see a teenage boy as a “sexual” either.
