Anybody ever hear of this ?
My thumb is a mess.............locks up on me and I have to pull it with my other hand to unlock the joint.
Very painful........I see the doc on the 13th. may need surgery.
Just when I was gonna start back training again.
If it aint one thing,it`s another.
Talked to a woman who told me her husband had to have 3 operations........FUCK THAT!!!

It began to re-occur but used specific stretches to eliminate it.

NSAIDs such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin IB) or naproxen (Aleve) may relieve the pain but are unlikely to relieve the swelling constricting the tendon sheath or trapping the tendon. They can also have pronounced side effects over the long term.
See your doctor about breaking up the constriction using a needle or out patient surgery on the tendon sheath.

Yeah Les,when I went ti the emrgency room they told me to but Ibuprofrin,but it isn`t really helping.

Carpal tunnel caused the muscle at the base of my thumbs to atrophy (Thenar atrophy). In addition, I have osteoarthritis in my hands specially my thumbs. A friend of mine had the same issues. He had surgery on one thumb. As a result, his thumb permanently pointed downward away from his forefinger. He decided not to have surgery on the other thumb as a result.
Try using a thumb splint before you agree to surgery on your thumb, ask your doctor what are the chances of something like that happening. Lifting weights could be difficult if you can't use your thumbs.

Manuals are easy enough, depending on degree of damage, if you don't mind the misery of getting it out and back in again. A centering tool is the only specialist tool I remember needing.

Ever use something like this? It's cheap enough to give it a shot. Everything in weightlifting is squeezing your hand together. You need to balance that with extensors.

Bit of a rehab, but I made a full recovery and my strength finally came back
I had it for 2 years before I was able to get surgeries.. During that time, 70% loss of feeling, massive weakness due to the inflammation, and insane pain at times. Pm me if you have any questions Wes.
