Title: Old Lifting Video
Post by: bhank on September 14, 2021, 06:50:19 AM
Well I am 43 years old and have had 2 pec tears since turning 40 so I don't go low reps anymore. But getbiggers want something so this is what I have it is from 2015 when I was living in Maui and about 38 years old lifting maybe 3 days a week and weighing about 205-210lbs tops. It is 350 for a double. I am about 20lbs heavier now and I do believe I am stronger however no I have not done any single digit rep sets since my last tear. I am sure many getbiggers can press more by all means add your favorite or best lifting video to the thread.

you must have really upped the dose in the past 5 years to loose all that hair.

The amount of hair loss must have been accelerated by copious amounts of Tren,Winny and Masteron.

Nice half reps and jimmy legs.

Letting the weight collapse on your chest and bouncing it back up.. this is the definition of hypertrophy.

No wonder why you have torn pecs/shoulders and use cane.

the bar collapses violently on your chest.

why are you avoiding the dramatic hair loss question?

No body loses that much hair in 5 years without abusing AAS.

Its a touch and go the bar doesn't collapse or bounce its a good press but whatever you can do to discredit me. It looks legit to me

No, i call out your bullshit lies.. you say you dont use drugs.

but in 2015 you had long hair.

5 years later you have nothing left hanging on to scraps.

you didn't go through Chemo.. you simply upped the dose.

what were you taking the last 5 years to accelerate hair loss?

i am trying to help members on the forum who are worried about hairloss.. to not use the drugs you do.

3-4 months before I benched the 300 ,I did 3 hard sets of 8 reps with 95 pounds.................. ...yes 95 pounds.

I wasn`t powerlifting either, I just had to show some fucks I was back on the scene............kinda` like what`s going on now.

Long backstory but this is far from my first comeback from nothing or less than nothing at times.

No, thats a great bench for sure.
I weigh 50 lbs more than that (at 200) and worked up to 305 x3 this AM. I'm 55 and weakened a bit, but anyone doing 300 is legit.
Weighing 150 and doing it is extra-legit...

Shit thanks, but dont discredit your 305 for a triple bro.........that`s damn good especially at 55 year of age.

I couldn`t do it now....I stopped benching years ago and opted to do just DB and barbell incline....though I did enter a bodyweghit for reps contest a few years back in Rochester NY, and got 1st. place in the Over-50 class.

Brian is strong and built, no question there.

Just needs some "ego deflation" supps to help with that issue.
It may be too late as most men in their 40's have checked their ego at the door long ago, it may be too late.
Just not a beast like he thinks.

My friend Jason is a beast. 49 reps with 225 and 23 reps with 315 on bench. 6' 2" 280 lbs, no drugs.
(Not really BB built, one of those barrel-chest Powerlifters(Big shouders, chest, arms). Zero ego, zero drugs, zero knowledge of Supps.
I had to explain to him what Pro-Hormones were, clueless.

Nicest dude in the world, zero ego... (500+ lb. raw/natty bencher).

You also don't get bonus point for being natty or deductions for injecting horse semen into your fucking eyeballs or bonus points for timed WOD ruck sack ironman marches. Do you have guns do you have abs do you have shoulders? It is that simple we can then argue about your back hams calves training methodologies wtf ever but no one cares if you are a vegan who doesn't believe in drinking milk you don't get bonus points for that

Sounds like a Fat guy being a beast isn't just about being 6foot2 280lbs it is about having muscular development on your frame and being strong for your weight. I could do 30 reps with 225 when I was younger but at 510 215lbs with abs. I developed my body I wasn't just a naturally big fat dude. I can still move like a little guy.

Anything over 300 pounds in bench is a fantastic accomplishment. Props to everyone who can do it.  Considering that amount of weight can easily crush a person's chest if it drops is reason enough for most people to avoid it, lol

That's what narcissists do my friend.

Always change the rules so only they can win.

Hanky constantly moves the goal posts so he is the only person that can win.

If i posted my video of benching 435 pounds from 2006, he would discredit it because it was too old.

The video must be taken at the exact point he approves of.

We all know he would fold in half benching 200 pounds today.

Who cares anymore.

I'm quite content with myself. Not all of us need constant attention to make up for our shortcomings in life. You have severe personal delusions and need more attention than a 16 year old girl.

I can still incline press 315 for a few reps. Just have no reason to anymore. Typically only use DB's anyway.

Bhanky,
If you can't bench 350 today like you did 4 years ago you ain't sh*t.
All that matters is now.
Sorry, man, we have to cut you from the team.

Honestly I think I can but I am not going to risk injuring myself to try. I know what I could rep then and I know what I can rep now. Using the one rep max calculator is a lot safer than trying a one rep max. But again I am deliberately holding back to prevent reinjuring my pec that I tore in March of this year I have babied it for 6 months doing high reps slowly bringing it back not going to risk all that progress now dropping from sets of 20 to sets of 2

That 1-rep calculator is surprising accurate (for me at least)...

People live and die by their barbell bench press numbers it seems. I never got much out of it- probably because I have relatively long arms and so am mechanically disadvantaged. I hit 285 and that was enough. So yeah, I'm thrown out of the GetBig club, lol

But for chest development, which I am after, the use of dumbbells gives far better pectoral development. Most likely because I can turn my wrists and place my elbows in a position that feels far more natural. I never get injured using DBs because all that balancing required, plus being able to actually get the dbs in position, tends to limit the weight I use.

It's Getbig so I wear a thong- I imagine you do too? Cheerleading outfits went out in the 70's Les- you are dating yourself, lol

You should have let Howard post this for you.

It’s a post that is at his level of stupidity.

One thing for sure the bench press is the most over rated exercise in the gym.  It is also a joint wrecker. Olympic lifters in China don't use it because it leads to inflexibility in the joint making it venerable to injury. One of the greatest Olympic lifters of all time  Lyu Xiaojun won't do the movement because it binds his shoulders. This is from one of the most decorated lifters in history.

I basically stopped using it about 15 years ago. I think it contributed to my wrecked shoulders.  Arnold, Big Lou, Zane, Draper and so many others have wrecked shoulders and had shoulder operations.

Who cares anymore.
yup....just like he says in one of his fits of rage how he could destroy the entire board in a fight and then proceeds to invite anyone to come to kitty hawk and spar with him.  Then when I tell him that's absurd and that nobody is flying there to fight him and instead he can prove to us his ability by challenging a local bjj black belt he says "naw man that's a dick move to just show up and challenge them, plus I'm focused on bodybuilding and getting my legs bigger".

He was never a good fighter and he was never incredibly strong.  His personality is right out of a text book.

Jesus was just trying to let everyone share a lifting video for a little fun and now you want me to go pick a fight with some random. I never said I was incredibly strong but yeah I can bench between 350-400 since I was about 25 years old. I am not going to try now though. I also have done mma and wrestling and grappling  and all that stuff but my 43 year old joints don’t want to do that now. Just like I don’t want to max out now  That doesn’t make me a liar because yes if it comes down to it I am absolutely capable of doing it again. I am 43 but I am as strong and explosive  as I have ever been

Pile driving a local bjj black belt through a Matt proves nothing that is not what you do in a bjj dojo you play it is not Greco Roman training you are not supposed to go 100 and slam people

They also spar at the end of every class but you have to go through an hour of letting some white belt drill shoulder locks on you before you get to roll with the blackbelts Nd I don’t feel like having some white belt twist surgically repaired arm and shoulder  for an hour asking if I can feel it yet no thanks

I’ve benched slightly over 500 years ago at around 250-260. Now around 215 and don’t care about heavy weight any more I do high reps with 175-205 and feel my chest much better than when benching heavy.

Anyway 350 for 2 is a damn good bench. I say when I see anyone bench 275+ Good form that they are strong.

Thanks rob I know it’s no record but I thought it was respectable I agree with you I do high rep sets with less weight now and feel it works chest better anyway I am also using about the same weight as you which makes sense same body weight. But hell no I could never get to 250lbs and press 500 that’s awesome

I agree.

I also have long arms and struggle with bench press. My squat and deadlift numbers are more impressive.

When i learned to bench press like a power lifter and tucked the elbows in with a narrow grip, my numbers when up quickly.

Just not worth the risk of injury.

I haven't done a heavy BB press in 4 years. Mainly DB's from now on at a slight incline.

I'd be impressed by anyone on here that can do a strict clean and "press" with 315 or more.

I did 335 many years ago. Collar bone to full lockout, no assistance from the legs.

Not a jerk, but a strict military style press.

I find that a better function of real strength.

Standing overhead presses are not for the weak.

I’ll be more impressed by someone doing upright rows, straight form, with 405

That would crush me to dust right now hahaha

335 like that is crazy strong.

I did 315 seated press, down to just above collarbone by about an inch many years ago. Standing the most I think I ever tried was 265 and that was very tough.

Me too, my arms wouldn't handle that weight today.

I always did them standing because seated overhead presses messed with my lower back for some reason.

A few weeks ago i did a strict overhead press with 245. Not sure i can do much more and don't care anymore either. ;D

Saw a power lifter i used to train with overhead press 385 pretty easily. Crazy strong.

I've got to think Bhanky strict military pressed 400 at least.

Will wait for him to comment.

In any event, if you can't do it right now, you ain't sh*t.
