Title: Raw milk
Post by: The Keto Kid on January 26, 2022, 04:36:30 PM
Anyone here drink raw milk? I've been thinking about trying it, heard it has tons of benefits, wondering if anyone here has any experience with it.

Tried it once but only at a dairy farm. That's really the only place to get it and not be worried about bacteria. The process of pasteurizing milk became widely used because it was shown that raw milk that sat around for a few days was a veritable trove of dangerous bacteria.

That being said, the advantage of raw milk is the proteins are not altered by the heat used in pasteurization and as a result have very beneficial properties. But it has to be really fresh or you run the risk of getting incredibly sick, which pretty much negates any benefit...

Been researching it, there's a farm close to me that sells it fresh daily, I've seen nothing but positive reviews regarding raw milk, was just wondering if anyone here has any experience with it.

My dad drinks a gallon a day. He swears by it. Says it has done wonders for his health.

Spot on.

I grew up drinking it. There was a dairy farm a few miles down the road.

Be prepared for some violent shits the first few times you drink it.

Awesome, I'm excited to try it, just read it's like 1 and 200,000 probably of getting sick from it.

I've heard that goats stop giving milk fast if they're unwell but cows keep producing, so goats are safer. Also heard tuberculosis is the main concern with raw cow milk.

I've had some excellent goat milk from a farm. Not gamey at all. Figure it was due to their diet. Do you raise your own?

I visited Ireland for ten days, mostly staying at B&Bs, where some served raw milk.

I bought raw milk from health food stores occasionally for a few years, but I couldn’t discern any benefit.  Whatever floats your boat.

You are taking a risk drinking raw milk for zero perceived benefit plus it costs more.

Some people believe that cooking any food destroys some of the nutrients, but it doesn't seem to be the case based on many studies with the exception of probiotics.  Heating/cooking kills probiotics but you can get probiotics from apple cider vinegar, and fermented vegetables.
