Someone PM'd me with this thread idea, which I didn't think was a good idea at first. But then, he convinced me to start it.
I decided to throw my own name into the hat, and if Getbiggers pick me to leave the board, I will leave and not come back until I'm 200-lb, and as lean as I am now, if not leaner. I'll do it just to do it, because it will occupy my time while I'm off the board.
Firstly, I don't see any way to block the posts of other specific users on the Simple Machines forum software. Otherwise, I'd just do that.
Walter PM'd me three days ago, which is why I'm bringing this up. I'm just going back to my former approach of never opening his threads, and scrolling past his posts any time I can. But I just find that annoying. I'd rather not see his posts...but there is no way to block the posts of others on here [unless the admin/Ron has that power].
I don't believe in censorship, I just hate that this loser follows me around and responds to me, when I've actively ignored every one of his posts to me for over three months now. Not until he PM'd me, did I reply, which I guess he looked at to mean that I still read anything he says [it was a PM, so I thought it was important - but I will ignore all future PM's from him. It is easy to delete PM's without looking at them. I always worry I will accidentally start reading one of Walter's posts, before I realize it is him, and just ignore him. That's how posts are, and I wish this software had a block feature, kind of like, you know, ALL other major forum software.
But it is what it is.
Regarding bhanks - why are people mean to him? I don't understand the criticism of bhanks. If he had a domestic incident with his wife, I'd need more details before judging that [i.e., was he acting in self-defense, and just took a plea deal in court, so as to not deal with the cost of trial]. But I don't ever see bhanks be rude to people, or spout out nasty homosexual fantasies under the guise of homophobia. It seems like half of Walter's posts are bashing a forum member, and the other half accusing others of being homosexual.
Even that stuff doesn't bother me - but when he's accusing me of not being with my children, or accusing Primemuscle of MOLESTING children...that just crosses all sorts of lines.
I'm also curious to know if I'm way off on this one - is Walter Sobchak adding some quality to the board that I'm missing.
Conversely, is bhanks doing anything that merits being banned? I've not known him to disrespect anyone in the posts that I've read. Maybe I'm missing something. So...just thought I'd find out.

As I said, I decided to throw my name on that poll, and if I get the most votes, I'll leave the board, and not come back until I am 25-lb heavier at the same body fat. That won't be impossible, since I've been there before [muscle memory], but it will take a while - so that is the hypothetical time I would stay away from Getbig.
As for why I started this topic, check out the foul posts below posted by Walter Sobchak - that I also posted above. And these were said to robcguns, no less. Exactly WHAT did Rob ever do to anyone, to have stuff like this spewed at him?

IMO, Getbig is a board filled with respectful people, who speak respectfully to one another. We may have certain common core views [such as being right-leaning for the most part, or being vaccine-hesitant, etc.], but by and large, we are a group of people who show respect to one another, even if we differ in our positions.
Walter Sobchak just spews his vile homosexual fisting fantasies and other homosexual fantasies, under the guise of homophobia.
Accusing me of not spending time with my kids shows what a fucking punk he is [what kind of a foul piece of shit says that to ANYONE, unless there is some basis in truth to the accusation - some things you just DON'T accuse people of for no reason] - but that PALES in comparison to accusing Primemuscle of pedophilia. That's not just disrespectful, but actually ILLEGAL to make accusations like that without evidence! Especially given that Primemuscle isn't in hiding, and a reasonable person can reasonably ascertain his identity. We can't just go around accusing people of having sex with children when it's completely untrue. We have defamation laws for a reason. THAT should be an auto-ban, or MAX, one warning.
And I generally don't think ANYONE should be banned for ANY reason. There's nothing else I would say Walter Sobchak deserves to be banned for - I just think his posts are useless. The conversation came up when another Getbigger messaged me and suggested putting Walter Sobchak and bhank in a poll [below].
I then decided...ok...I'll throw my own name on the poll, just to see if people want me to leave.
If people want me to leave, I'll leave. No problem [at least temporarily...for a few months].
I try to post respectfully to everyone on here, which to me is the main thing. My posts are too long, but I can't seem to help it.
But respect is key to me.

The reason why I posted this thread is because I was asked to. I don't even mind posters bashing me - Rusty Trombone did above.
But Walter Sobchak literally follows me around in EVERY FUCKING THREAD I MAKE, AND LOTS OF MY POSTS, and replies to me. Meanwhile, I haven't said a word to this loser for over three months! I scroll past every post he makes, and sometimes I'll catch my name in a post he makes to someone else.
Only recently when this loser PM'D ME, did I finally just have enough of it.
Honestly, I wish I could just block this guy, but I the forum software doesn't allow it.

Great news!! It worked!! I didn't think it would work based on my search, which led me to this [somewhat recent] thread, which had the following post that read to me that this was not a fix:

I know I absolutely will not click to open any of his posts, because I just don't care. And frankly, he can call me gay all day long with my full name and location, and I wouldn't care at all. As long as I don't have to read it!

In Canada, there are much more important things going on...and those things have had an insidious effect on me. That's why I haven't been thinking about anything seriously in the gym - why bother train for contests which will be cancelled for the THIRD YEAR IN A ROW? ::)

There's no point training for Strongman events if there will be no actual Strongman contests in my city.
