I'm flabbergasted at how many people I talk to who tell me they've had multiple surgeries from...just basically living. Injuries galore.
Lifting weights consistently increases tendon strength and supporting muscles, so in that sense it makes the person less prone to injuries from everyday living.
I've never had anything resembling an injury, with some incredibly shit form.
The long term wear and tear from that form (style of lifting) is more the issue.
In Brutal's second training video, he said he had never been injured. I have go admit, I was shocked to hear that.
Also, for his dumbbell bench press set, it wasn't the form, but the cadence that was off. Maybe one side was considerably stronger, but whatever it was - each side did not go up at the same time.

The only time I had a personal trainer was for a couple weeks in college where I really cranked up the intensity. His name was Dave Burney and he was built a lot like Terrell Owens. He even drove around a red corvette with “Arms” on his vanity plate. He knew Robby and talked about the days when he would back in town and the FAMU girls would all go crazy. They’re lucky he wasn’t like Brutal Fox or it could’ve ended up more like Ted Bundy in Tallahassee.

When you do things "correctly" you can NOT use as much weight. that doesn't mean bounce weights bend back throw weight up etc. BUT use heavy weight is a slight cheating fashion and you WILL stress the muscles more. For me, I think it's just a matter of time.
I tried to really clean up my form recently while deadlifting - my issue is it's all back for me, and I don't activate my hamstrings. If I could just do that, I feel like adding 50-lb is not out of question. But I don't know - I just don't activate my hamstrings.
Anyway, while pulling, I feel like I get a sort of minor strain on my biceps sometimes.
One of these days, I feel it may rip off the bone.
But hey - knock on wood, I've had zero injuries thus far. Nothing that ever took longer than 72 hours to clear up on its own, at least.

I know bodybuilders tend to think it only matters on stage - like in Generation Iron [part 2 or 3] when Dorian said IFBB pro bodybuilders make fun of Men's Physique competitors...meanwhile, probably 90% of women would go for a Men's Physique competitor over an open heavyweight bodybuilder.
Add to that the fact that both divisions produce strong men, but massive pros are going to get to a point in size where they get winded literally walking up a flight of stairs, whereas having a lighter muscular physique like will be a lot more functional [and bode far better for health and longevity].

- 165-lb strict curl [certainly this is way over anything I've done - I curl 120 for 8-12, but don't even think I've tried over 135]
- 300-350 range bench press at one point.
But here's what I would say about B. Hank, which I feel B. Hank needs to acknowledge about me:
He and I have different results for many reasons, but one reason is simply the fact that we train for different goals.
B. Hank presumably trains exclusively in the 8-12+ rep range.
I train a lot in the 1-6 rep range, although I have been trying to move to an exclusively bodybuilding style program lately.
And that just affects our results.
I have that...you know, that instinct to get stronger, which is why I often default back to it.
I really want to see how much success I can having with a bodybuilding-style program though, and I am currently on one.
As it has been going well, I intend to stay on it until around Halloween.
