I think you missed my point, which is that she isn't my rep. Whether she is an idiot or not has nothing to do with me... or you. Neither of us live in Queens, NY. Therefore, we cannot vote AOC in or out of office, (unless you know a whole lot of folks who live in the district she represents). This leaves us almost no reason to discuss AOC's intelligence.

She is perhaps a little too polite as compared to many other politicians when asking questions during these hearings. She is young and IMO she has a somewhat childish voice which some might construe as her being immature and not commanding respect.

There are many causes of it but one that can and should be addressed is false news stories, false pictures, things that are designed to keep the division or increase it. I don't know how it is over there, but here, we seem to have a rather large population that refuses to fact check anything before passing it on as real and it is usually pro one party or the other or anti one party or the other. I've read from sources that deal with counter intelligence that Russia for example, has people who's sole job it is is to create division among us by introducing bogus news stories and memes (memes are popular because it doesn't take any intelligence to look at it and pass it on, articles and news stories rely on people reading them. which is why the Headlines are often different than the content.)

As for political experience, during college, Ocasio-Cortez was an intern for U.S. senator Ted Kennedy in his section on foreign affairs and immigration issues. AOC worked as a volunteer organizer for Bernie Sanders in the South Bronx, expanding her skills in electoral organizing and activism. AOC said, "The campaign was a long shot from the start. Everyone said, ‘She’s really cute, but maybe next time." I guess timing is important when it comes to winning an election. Hers was strictly a 'grass roots' campaign.
It is interesting how a clear lack of experience in politics is preferable with some voters for one candidate and not with others. Some people think no previous political experience was/is advantageous. Trump had literally no working political experience prior to being elected aside from the fact that he officially ran as a candidate for in 2000, he also "unofficially" campaigned in 2012 and mulled a run in 2004. -Not sure campaigning for an office is considered as political experience. Since losing the popular vote but winning the electoral college vote in 2016, he ran and lost (depending on who you ask), the election in 2020.

AOC worked as a volunteer organizer for Bernie Sanders in the South Bronx, expanding her skills in electoral organizing and activism. AOC said, "The campaign was a long shot from the start. Everyone said, ‘She’s really cute, but maybe next time." I guess timing is important when it comes to winning an election. Hers was strictly a 'grass roots' campaign.
It is interesting how a clear lack of experience in politics is preferable with some voters for one candidate and not with others. Some people think no previous political experience was/is advantageous. Trump had literally no working political experience prior to being elected aside from the fact that he officially ran as a candidate for in 2000, he also "unofficially" campaigned in 2012 and mulled a run in 2004. -Not sure campaigning for an office is considered as political experience. Since losing the popular vote but winning the electoral college vote in 2016, he ran and lost (depending on who you ask), the election in 2020.

She tweeted “Just like catcalling, I don’t owe a response to unsolicited requests from men with bad intentions,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Thursday night. “And also, like catcalling, for some reason they feel entitled to one.” This seems to me like a rather clever play on words on her part... especially for someone who some people call a dunce. Catcalling and egging someone on is pretty close to the same thing.
To which Shapiro replied in a tweet, "Discussion and debate are not “bad intentions.” Slandering someone as a sexist catcaller without reason or evidence does demonstrate cowardice and bad intent, however."
She made a wise decision to run the other way. He tried to set her up and failed. Simple as that. It's not like it would have helped her get elected... probably the opposite.

You are allowed to discuss any politician you choose. It would be nice though if people focused on what the politicians do as our representatives. For example, their congressional voting record. When someone personally knows the politician, they are discussing, it may offer better insight as to who they are as people as well as their political views. Over many years, I have met many, mostly state politicians at both informal and campaign events, many are very different from the image they present to the general public, and rightly so since they are just regular people like you or me.

I was kidding you about stalking AOC. She took office in 2019 maybe five years is a lot to you but to me she is still a freshman… hardly what I think of as a seasoned politician.

I don’t tune in to Shapiro’s podcasts, so it is nice to read he is polite to his guests. Nevertheless, he challenged her to a debate. Debates are often contentious. IMO it was a wise decision for her to not debate him at that point in time.

It would have exposed her idealism and lack of actual experience as a House Rep. She was smart enough to know better than to agree to that debate. I would have done the same if I were in her position.
Handlers seems like an odd term to describe advisors. She’s not a boxer or a racehorse despite her oversized teeth. Seems like her declining response on Twitter came directly from her and not someone advising her. Gues you’d have to have been there when the response was posted to be sure whose it was.
It is your opinion that she still could not handle it. Maybe debating Shapiro is not important enough for the future of her political career. She seems to have done just fine thus far sans a Shapiro debate.
Wise politicians cater to the audience that will get them elected. Shapiro’s audience will never be hers. Anyway, she clearly did not need their votes.
