We placed American soldiers in close proximity of nuclear testing, not to mention the chicken pox blankets or the STD studies on unwitting people.

I think what Prime is concerned about is that here in America, we have a problem. America is as divided as it has ever been since the civil war. There are many causes of it but one that can and should be addressed is false news stories, false pictures, things that are designed to keep the division or increase it. I don't know how it is over there, but here, we seem to have a rather large population that refuses to fact check anything before passing it on as real and it is usually pro one party or the other or anti one party or the other. I've read from sources that deal with  counter intelligence that Russia for example, has people who's sole job it is is to create division among us by introducing bogus news stories and memes (memes are popular because it doesn't take any intelligence to look at it and pass it on, articles and news stories rely on people reading them. which is why the Headlines are often different than the content.)

I'm sure you can think of some examples of that happening here a few times. So people like Prime and myself would rather not aid Russia in it's goal of dividing us by being a vessel to be used by them. Your "joke" was not just a picture. If you look at it and what it says, it's very likely the origin is from someone or a group that wants to continue to divide America. That's probably why Prime brought it up. Personally, I would love to see Americans being more responsible with what they post, putting SOME effort into trying to determine if it is true or not before sharing it. But I'm not too optimistic that will happen anytime soon.

into some folks' basis for reality. BTW, Trump is a master at this. He makes up shit and repeats it so often that an unfortunate number of folks fall for it... hook, line and sinker. I get several emails of his campaign pleas for donations everyday. That some people actually believe the crap lies he spews, is mindboggling. It is my sincere hope these folks don't get what they deserve because of their gullibility. Trump is counting on them doing this.

Her questions and comments seem reasonable to me. She is perhaps a little too polite as compared to many other politicians when asking questions during these hearings. She is young and IMO she has a somewhat childish voice which some might construe as being immature and not commanding respect.

As she pointed out, seeking asylum is not a crime in and of itself. Although I agree with Homan about proper channels such as seeking asylum at points of entry as opposed to crossing the Rio Grande in hopes of sneaking into the States.

Afterall, she graduated cum laude from Boston University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in both international relations and economics. Seems like she'd need some 'smarts' to accomplish this.

AOC worked as a volunteer organizer for Bernie Sanders in the South Bronx, expanding her skills in electoral organizing and activism.  AOC said, "The campaign was a long shot from the start. Everyone said, ‘She’s really cute, but maybe next time." I guess timing is important when it comes to winning an election. Hers was strictly a 'grass roots' campaign.

If Ben Shapiro asked me to sit down for a 'civil conversation' in the midst of my campaigning for office, I would be suspicious of his intentions.

In August 2018 when AOC was campaigning for the office to which she got elected, Shapiro said during a segment on “The Ben Shapiro Show” that he would donate $10,000 to Ocasio-Cortez’s campaign if she agreed to debate him. She tweeted “Just like catcalling, I don’t owe a response to unsolicited requests from men with bad intentions,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted Thursday night. “And also, like catcalling, for some reason they feel entitled to one.” This seems to me like a rather clever play on words on her part... especially for someone who some people call a dunce. Catcalling and egging someone on is pretty close to the same thing.

To which Shapiro replied in a tweet, "Discussion and debate are not “bad intentions.” Slandering someone as a sexist catcaller without reason or evidence does demonstrate cowardice and bad intent, however."

She made a wise decision to run the other way. He tried to set her up and failed. Simple as that. It's not like it would have helped her get elected... probably the opposite.
