Will the positives outweigh the negatives? Will you actually live longer? Can anyone report?

you will feel like a new man (no homo)

Light TRT dose, you'll be fine, especially if you lived clean throughout life and have good blood markers...
(Not be all/end all, but a fairly decent snapshot (Bloods are)...
Jumping on the heavy-gas, and orals, etc wouldnt be smart...

I knew a guy that starting test and deca around 64 and last I saw him was a couple years ago and he was 71 and looking great, about 6’ 200 and pretty lean and vascular. He said he had a couple scotches, cigars and a joint every night. He is still alive just lives about 45 minutes from me now so I don’t see him any more. Said he took 100mgs of test a week and 100mgs if deca every 10 days.

Low doses like can be therapeutic... Like anything, dosing an moderation...
TRT is like the person who has a beer or 2 at night, while heavy gear is like downing a bottle of scotch a night.
Huge difference in usage... One is very safe, one is not...

steroids knock ten years off your life

You won't live to 100.
90 to 100 are the prime years of life.

For what reason are you asking this question?
What about your current life do you feel steroids will improve?
TRT is steroids by the way.
And no, you won't live longer...most likely you will die younger.
Keep in mind, most of this forum's trt and steroid users have mental problems and they use steroids and other drugs to make them feel better about themselves.
If you have been professionally diagnosed with hypogonadism (lowT) then you have a medical reason to need trt.

Yup, and the ten years before your steroid induced death become even worse.

I’d rather be on a lifetime of gear than a one vaxx or one vaxx plus 1,2 or 3 boosters…so there’s that.

I expected my post to draw much more attention.

I got the idea in my original post because I read a few reports about smoking and that if you start at 60+ the side effects will probably not catch up with you. I wondered if it would be the same thing with steroids.

Start both and report back.
Matt Canning will have multiple follow up questions.

I'm usually in the pro-steroid camp. Actually I'm more in the do what you want camp. If you want to do steroids at 60, do it, if you don't like it just stop. Simple. I'm going to mention a potentially negative effect that my now 60 year old friend has repeatedly mentioned to me. He's now on a short break and mentions how he sleeps amazingly well now, how he feels mentally stable, how he's not on edge all the time. It's not like he's a maniac on steroids but steroids, basically stimulate the nervous system. This stimulation can be good if you are feeling low, depressed and generally with low drive. Increased sex drive from steroids can somtimes be a curse as well and some would rather not deal with the "stress" from that, they just want non-drama life without sexual frustration. Two things: my friend does a little more than TRT dose AND he says no way will he be off for long, there are still so many positives. It can be a great feeling being 60 and being twice as strong as a healthy 20 year old (last year he deadlifted 660lbs off the floor). What I'm saying is that there might be some drawbacks, even if it's not anything dangerous per se.
This fella "won his pro card" at 79! He's going to die young!

Dead by 61

My doc says you wont live longer or shorter, there is no increase in quantity of life only quality of life, I agree many take too much and call it TRT, I take 50mg every 4 days, subcutaneously its all thats needed,
-
If you start before 60 or after 60 you'll be ok but if you start at 60 you'll kick the bucket.

90% of doctors are jerk offs who dont know what they are talking about , if you dont like what doctor A has to say you just go to doctor B and he says the exact opposite of doctor A....

I’d get a second opinion on those stats.

If you have a genetic predisposition, probably. I’ve been on for years and my psa is never greater than a .5.
