A good documentary & the blood results shown seems conclusive that plant based cuts out a lot of fat in your blood.
Definitely important for people with heart disease

This will not go over well on this forum.

I still eat some meat but I have cut back in the last few years.

You don‘t even have to watch this garbage. Just take a look at who was behind the making of it and you‘ll know it‘s pure propaganda

Most vegetarians look so healthy. Yes, sarcasm.

Some people function better eating vegetables, others feel more energized eating meat. One just has to find what works for them.

Most of the meat in the US is shitty quality, and they rolled back the inspection guidelines during covid. I eat meat once a week or less. Works for me.

Too much work ;D
If it was important for me, I’d do it but I don’t miss it and generally feel the same or better. Much easier on the pocketbook, too.

Why does it have to be a one versus the other debate? You can eat some chicken as well as a salad.

I eat both meats and vegetables; I do agree that extreme diets probably do tend to help some people.
I’m thinking I’ll be okay consuming fiber, spirulina, kelp, beet extract and others :)
-
Tbh, it's all about eating plenty of fats

The one video that dispelled my decades-long fear for keto, red meat, sodium, saturated fat, dietary cholesterol, etc., and got me started on my first very meat heavy, keto diet 4 years ago which I've followed consistently to this day:

Learned my lesson the hard way eating spinach years back and got a kidney stone.
I was only low carb at the time and tracking little else.
I cut out supplemented forms of calcium (not natural) and obviously no spinach.
I will call BS on the oxalate amount or absorption of Kale BTW.
Like most things in life we need to test what works for us.

If not meat, do you eat only plant-based junk food then? Because in order to do plant-based right according to plant-based doctors and gurus, you'll have to buy and eat lots of organic produce, which ain't cheap. You don't have to go organic, but then you'll be consuming a ton of pesticides. You'll also have to spend on supplements such as B12, Zinc, Calcium, etc.
Since I switched to an animal-based diet, I've saved significantly not only on food, but on medications, doctors visits, and supplements I no longer need.

Nope, the only processed/prepared foods I eat are block tofu, whey powder, yogurt, and cheese. Everything else is just individual ingredients that I prepare. I don’t think those “plant based” prepared foods are any healthier than their meat-containing counterparts.
At least half of my meals are a scoop of whey, a spoonful of nut butter, and 1-2 pieces of fruit. If I find a plant-based protein powder that is as drinkable as whey, I’d switch but they’ve all been thick and gritty. Otherwise it’s all beans, fruits, vegetables, and grains.
It’s a common misconception that organic produce isn’t grown with pesticides. They are, just with “organic-based” pesticides. In some cases, such as with citrus, the organic fruit uses the same pesticides as the conventional. As to the need for supplementation, that’s not the case unless you are strict vegan which i am not. I even eat meat a couple times a month, I just cut down my consumption drastically from my bodybuilding days (oh brother)
Glad to hear your diet is working for you, I wish you continued good health and well-being in the future.

Truth.
Pesticide residue also remains in the soil for many years, particularly arsenic based pesticides.
"Organic" is a marketing gimmick, especially lucrative for small farms.
There is no substantiated health benefit to organic foods, but you pay a lot more.

Yeah, I should have been more specific and said chemical pesticides as opposed to organic. But as you said regarding fruit, and as IroNat said regarding all things "organic", it's most likely a marketing gimmick.
Sorry! No idea why I thought you were vegan. My mistake.
Thanks very much for the well wishes. I wish you the same.
