The man is 78 years old poppa, father time beats us all in the long run.
Fun fact, I met Vince McMahon a number of years back circa 2015. I was getting Orthopedic Surgery done at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City and he had a suite on the same unit as I also had a room in. While doing physical therapy (walking) up and down the floor of that unit, we crossed paths and I told him how much I was a fan of his body of work with what he did through the WWF. I swear, he was the NICEST guy ever. An absolute gentleman and the kind of guy (true alpha) that takes to making others in the room feel like the most important person ever. I was floored by his professionalism, composure and charisma. He was nice enough to give me a contact number to their company headquarters in Connecticut to call one of his assistants if I ever wanted to catch an event in Madison Square Garden.
Again, class act.

I get it but I wasn't expecting the cane, turkey neck and generally elderly disposition. It caught me off guard.
That's no shade to Mr. McMahon. I have alot of respect for what he's accomplished. I've been entertained by him since I was a kid. I'm glad to hear he's a nice guy unlike many of his stature. Thanks for sharing the story Rep.

Old guys looking old is a great reason for a thread.
Wiggs, what’s your opinion on the current state of affairs in your ancestral homeland, Y’sreal?

Something happened.
Bad plastic surgery be my guess! ....
-
Vince had spinal surgery prior to the wwe selling to endeavor.
-
Probably so shocking because he looked still out together at such an advanced age. Something probably happened. I had a great aunt who lived to be 96. She had it together and looked great until about 92 when she broke a hip. It was after that, that she began to have the feeble look and really fell apart. Same with my uncle after heart surgery. 6’5 280 lbs and after the bear attack and bypass he lost probably 50lbs and looked like shit. Never recovered.

He got some wrestling injuries as well.

Post 75 seems problematic for most people, but some in their 80’s do pretty well too.
I heard someone say that for people who live to 40 have a life expectancy of 86 which isn’t bad.

You can debate the greatest pro wrestler of all time but there is no debate about the most influential person in Pro Wrestling. There’s Vince and there’s an argument about #2.
Vince has put more money into pockets of more wrestlers than every other promoter in history combined.
Sure wrestlers can bitch that they should’ve been paid more but without Vince most of them would’ve spent their lives working shitty day jobs.

Standing next to Undertaker though :)
Sure, Vince lost height due to age but Undertaker makes most men look short :D
-
Did Vince have his spine removed, guy looks 5ft tall FFS
no they always used to introduce the undertaker as the near 7 foot tall undertaker. so vince is still 6 ft 2 or so in wrestling height.

Austin was very nice. The people seem very young and cool. I actually went to catch a show at Joe Rogan's Comedy Mothership and had a very nice time.
Rogan wasn't performing that night, but I saw a few good comics and the staff was very friendly.
Texas is different.

8 years ago. His face has always looked pretty old though, I think the mustache makes him look older.

Same here........total disregard for "fans" or just had a haughty fuck you type of attitude.

Yes, cool tale, OMR. Thanks for sharing.
I’ve always been a Vince fan. Just a character. And a true MAN.
Is he perfect? Of course not. I have zero doubt he’s messed around with plenty of women, etc. Big deal.
As far as how he’s showing his age, it seems everyone has “that” age after which the decline grows considerably more steep.
As well, he’s been a target for decades for all sorts of slings and arrows.
It compounds on the aging body.
Vince is a legend (a word used far too frivolously these days) and doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone.
-
My dad is 80 and a week ago not that it was heavy but we carried a 65 inch TV in the box up about 20 steps into my apartment. My dad still works out five days a week. He gets up at 4:35 in the morning, it works out.
-
Vince has been an alpha male role model for nearly 50 years. He still is the man.
-
The man is a genius.
Look at it this way. Without him the 1980's-2020's would have not been as fun for generations of people. Much like Marvel had Stan Lee to create a universe of superheroes and mutants that saturated comic books for the enjoyment of children and young adults alike, TV had a Vince McMahon to bring to life these larger-than-life characters like Hulk Hogan who revolutionized wrestling entertainment. He provided a platform and created characters (along with his creative team) the likes of "The Rock", "The Undertaker", "Stone Cold Steve Austin", "Venom Vince Versace" and "Roddy Piper". Every WWF/WWE event was like a 1-hour movie that you would get to watch every week, sometimes twice per week. Truth be told, I only watched from the 1980's through the early 1990's and then felt it was becoming too fantastical and couldn't enjoy it as much due to the insane theatricality. That said, the Hogan story line for Wrestlemania 3 where he "faced" Andre The Giant was very entertaining.

Listen to the recent Hogan and Kurt Angle podcasts on Rogan / you will get a lot of stuff on Vince. Dude is a legend / still works out with a trainer at like 2 am once the shoes are done.
-
Vince is ill. Pretty obvious moon face from meds and still out there.
The difference between even 70 and almost 80 is a lot. Vince is the same age as my dad - who has slowed down A LOT in the last 5-6 years.
Consider also Vince's father didn't even see 70 and died from pancreatic cancer with no PED history.
-

He looks like he's enduring immense pain that would leave a lesser mortal confined to bed. Look at his face; I don't think he has dementia or something, but he seems like he's just trying to bear that pain, just from standing straight, I guess. As the once-great Arnold said, "Aging is shit!" Actually, for such physical specimens, it is hell!

There is no getting around the fact that there is a huge fall off between 70 and 80. Vince looked phenomenal at 70. It is why you see ten to fifteen 70-72 year olds at the various Masters National competitions every year, and some look superb, and only maybe one 80 year old. Vince is no different from the rest of humanity.
-
on one hand he made the attitude era, on the other hand he turned wrestling into a kids show, its been boring asf and lame for 20 years
fuck him :D

He’s had a lot of injuries in his 70s that likely slowed him down. Apparently some serious back surgeries.
-
Vince is a pretty prolific rapist...
-
I think he's fine for 78, even somewhat spry. Here he is at 75 - https://twitter.com/i/status/1416293723944538115 , you can see the age creeping into his face some, and that's pretty candid, no make up or film / photo magic to hide flaws. As mentioned, the moustache makes him look older too.
Also, with the amount of legal ins and outs he's been going through the last couple of years, age from stress is going to start showing no matter what.
-

Lifted heavy for too long and messed himself up structurally. Squatting heavy, in particular, eventually Fvcks you up. In addition to spinal surgery Vince tore both his quads. Shane did the same.
I’ve come to the conclusion that sticking to bodyweight squats are the way to go for older lifters. 4 sets of 20 every 4-5 days and you’re good.

The 70's are brutal! You can workout and eat right but by age 75 the DNA starts to unravel. None of us are getting out of this alive.

I’m skeptical that any benefits from the younger blood would outweigh the risks of transfusing foreign blood cells.

HBK yes.
Bret Hart was a hell of a technical wrestler. One of the best, but as an overall entertainer, I didn’t find him to be top-notch. He’s also a non-stop complainer and his promos were boring. HBK was a jackass, but a god in the ring and had the charisma.

Brett Hart and Shawn Michael's are like Ryu and Ken. Ken was just more brash and aggressive more, Hollywood, pretty boy. EG "The Heartbreak Kid". Hart like Ryu, a purist in his art. Dedicated to being the best, all about the art and seeking worthy competition. I like them both. Goldberg and McMahon greatly contributed to him being bitter in is later years. Shawn got knocked cross-eyed and has severe pain from all the years of his style of wrestling.
