That's how muscles are built, boys 8) (no pussy crap)

Golly!

He seems like the kind of guy who puts 35 plates per side on a leg press machine and then does a brutal five or six 1/4 reps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111111111111

He's coached by Aceto, who believes that constant muscle tension is key to stimulating growth. Locking out at the top or bottom of the movement ruins most of your results (at least when bulking)

key to stim of growth is more weight on the bar
like mentzer once said... "how can you make a muscle bigger? by making it weaker?"
if you bench 100 for 10 reps til failure and then 5 years later bench 300 pounds for 10 reps to failure you think you won't have bigger pecs, delts and tris ??? :D :D :D

So the muscle contractions which take place during the rep become meaningless because you lock out?
-
Super!
-

Yes, because you take the tension of the muscle while locking out, giving the muscle rest during the set and killing the stimulus.

Muscles dont know weight, they only know intensity

Aceto doesn't coach training or drugs... Diet only.. His approach to drugs "What do you have on hand?? Use that"...
Or he does and just says that so he doesnt get into any trouble...
-
All drugs, horrible 1-inch ROM on smith machine, LOL ::)

U forgot to mention the 6 plates he got on each side.... ::)

he certainly does not agree :D :D :D
he's a good man with a good soul so i respect him greatly but i would never want that kind of bod, benefetto @ a buck 70 was peak beautiful lines
anyways he says and i say you must increase loads to increase muscle size
my chest is 47 and arms 16 1/4 but i'm gunning for 50 and 17 and the only way to get there is increased loads
see the mike mentzer quote but he went way too far with his 2 sets once a week stuff

At first glance of the title I thought it said Super-intense Jerk Off.
Maybe because it had Affeman's name under it
-

Doing no good, not one rep was performed... growing from drugs (tons), food (tons) and horrific training.
Drugs cover up where all else lacks...
dudes a fucking moron...

are you sure?
i'd be willing to bet he built his size from increased training loads and then just held his size with his pump and fluff stuff
and when his arm went from 16 to 19 his skulls or curl weight stayed the same? nah!!! oh wait, maybe he got weaker :D :D :D
like mentzer said... how you gonna make a muscle bigger? make it weaker? :D
and do you really think that you can add 200 pounds to your bench press training weight for 10 reps to failure and not have bigger pecs, delts and tris?
-

why dont strong men and Olympic lifters have muscles like bodybuilders?
Lifting a weight and making a muscle work are two completly different things

have you seen the wheels on olympic lifters?
and what's that have to do with adding 2 bills to your 10 max bp?

I’ve seen tons of power lifters with insane squat numbers that have small legs.

they squat using the ass low back not the quads wide ass stance basically a good morning
AJ tested dread smatfields quad str and it was miserable he squats with ass low back
squat with feet shoulder width and stay upright and you gonna get quad size ie. take that squat from from 135 for 10 reps to 315 for 10 reps and.... viola! bigger quads

Yes, because you take the tension of the muscle while locking out, giving the muscle rest during the set and killing the stimulus.
We’re talking literally a fraction of a second of rest.
Personally, I don’t lock out because I find it harder in the joints but that sounds like one of those hair splitting things that trainers say to distinguish themselves.

Great, so we agree, you make the muscle work harder by using form which will create the most stress on the muscle itself
Do you think if you keep adding weight you will just get bigger and bigger?
Your genetics limit your growth, its not how much weight you lift
-
These definitions are all inter-related. The muscles know resistance. You increase resistance by adding weight. To overcome the increased resistance you recruit more fibers by sending stronger signals to the working muscles via intensity.

Many gymnasts have never touched a weight but have better arms than most bodybuilders

never said everyone could get big but you yourself (meaning anyone) will only get bigger my using more weight in good form
using me as an example i'm pretty sure i'll never be able to bench 315 for 10 no matter what i do as genetics determine end str but to get as big as you yourself can get you must lift as much weight as possible in good form
and no you can't keep adding weight as your genes won't allow it, i might be able to get 300 for 6 paused reps but that's probably my end limit but i won't know til i try
-

alright let's take one those gymnasts and have him do barbells skulls for 10 reps til failure and then lets say its 120 for 10 reps and then lets get him to add 100 pounds to that 10 rep max effort, so his tri won't be any bigger :D :D :D :D

I have better legs than a lot of guys in the gym 30 years younger than me and some who squat 500lb
Hows that work?

not if his arms have maxed out already
What part of genetic limit do you not understand?
we have both been roughly the same size for the last 10 years on here, why do you think that is?
-

They do mainly bodyweight work but they’re working against a lot of resistance doing chin up type moves.
They don’t seem to have the same development in their legs.

they dont do much resistance work on their legs apart from sprinting
They get big muscles doing resistance work but they dont increase poundages while doing it, they get the size through consistant repetition
There arms get to a certain size then stop, just like your muscles do when weight training no matter how much weight you use
-

Platz has always said it’s about the reps. A lot of low rep high poundage lifters don’t get enough volume for maximum development. Plus once you get to very low reps, other muscles start to share the workload, with squats, the lower back.

Muscles only stretch, they dont add tissue, its impossible unless you have hyperplasia and thats not good
What better way to make muscles bigger than by pumping them full of blood and stretching them
-

i'm not bigger because my diet is shit and i over train ie. training 6 days a week
if i can stay on a 1 on 1 off schedule and not waver and eat beef, chicken, rice, potatoes which is basically a hybrid of the vertical diet with a justin harris influnce as he says all that is needed is chicken beef rice and potatoes with carb cycling but i wont carb cycle
but the key for me is to stay the course and not jump back into 6 days a week training, as the one on one off will allow me to increase training loads
as far as the gymnast goes yeah if his 10 rep max only goes up 10-20 then no he won't add size but if he could add 100 pounds to his 10 rep skull his tris will be larger
-

If you have ben training for 10 years and your arms are 18 inches they are not going to be 20 no matter how much you lift
Come on dj, you are not only the size you are because you dont carb cycle or overtrain FFS

Agree
Seems like the guys who maintain their physiques the best are the “Pumper” type lifters. They keep the reps in the 10-15 range and don’t get too crazy.
