Title: Apple ID hacked.
Post by: Irongrip400 on May 15, 2024, 03:05:08 PM
Anyone know how to get photos from a phone that your iCloud has been hacked? They’ve locked me out of all trusted devices, changed the phone number associated with the account so I can’t get back into it. My real issue is since my cloud is gone all of my photos are too.  They’re on my phone and I can see them in the album but when I go to click on them I can’t because of the cloud issue. Any of y’all know about that?

They told me there’s nothing they can do. They said since the person who stole the account has the password there’s no way to recover it. Either way, I didn’t know if there was a way to recover.

Pay Goodrum the $500 ransom and you will get your blackmail photos back.

I’d pay someone $2,500 to get the pics off the phone. Not anyone here but if there’s such a store that does this. I’ve got 26,000 pics on here. Vacation, kids, etc.

Yeesh sorry that happened to you. Anyways you’re not going to get anything informative here.  I don’t care for the site in general but Reddit is a good source for information like this.

Best of luck

Sorry to hear, that sucks. This is a little late for advice, but do not save your photos on the cloud - ever! I have never done that. I get annoyed whenever a device offers me this option. I copy all my photographs to my hard drives.

The big Reddit thread.

This was one of the ways it was done recently -

99% of the people report no luck dealing with Apple, except "brick your device and start over", although a few claimed they got help by physically going to an Apple store and having them reset everything through back channels after a few weeks of formal ID clearing and checking.

I hope that you find a solution, and please post it here.

As suggested for the future, back ‘em up to an HDD.  I have nearly 11,000 songs, 2,000 films, and 100s of TV shows on two HDDs and my PC.  I suffered a data loss issue years ago that took months to fix.  It was soul-crushing.

no one looks at old photos
My mum has loads of photo albums in her wardrobe no one ever looks at

You dont need photos you have your memories.
Even if you get dementia photos are no good as you wont recognise anyone in them anyway.

My father has dementia/Alzheimer's and we had to put him in a memory care facility back in January and the doc told us bring pictures of friends and family.
It's suppose to help them not feel isolated and the older pics do stir his memories and get him talking and happy.

Can you trace the phone? If you can spend then money on teaching them a lesson instead

In addition… use your Google email account and the Google Photos app as a redundant back up for all your pics.  The back ups are automatic once you install the photos app; the instant you take a pic it is archived in google photos.  iCloud and iPhoto are not bad but I have found Google photos to be just as good if not better.  You can create albums of various kinds (kids, cars, gym, house, bodybuilders, etc) and sort your photos accordingly.  The very first time you install the app it will take a few minutes to archive all the existing photos on your phone.  After that you will be glad to have a redundant back up.  You may access the photos from the app or via computer from the google photos website which is linked to your gmail address.

You may download the Google Photos app from the App Store.  Do it now.  It’s quick, simple, and free.

You are welcome.

That’s why I’m here, I figured one of you guys would know where that is.

I have no clue what any of this means but thanks. Does this mean I have to get a google brand phone?

You might not look at old photos, but most people do.  I wouldn’t be so quick to assume that everyone is miserable and depressed as you.

Regarding your final sentence, that runs counter to the advice given by gerontologists and other experts in the matter.

Never use the cloud. Backup regulary and keep backups offline.

No one said anything about getting a Google brand phone.  So why are you making things up out of thin air?

Not sure how to make this more simple:
1) Use current iphone to download the Google Photo app from the Apple App Store.
2) Open the Google Photo app.

If that is too complicated to understand then you don’t need to use a smart phone. ::)

The google photo app is amazing, and makes pics searchable, easy to access, and it even creates collages and shit for you.

It's a shame Google itself has gone bad.

I consider Google Photos to be my primary photo archive, iCloud is second, and Amazon Photos is third.

Sure pal. I misunderstood when you mentioned the google pic thing. I wasn’t sure if it was brand specific, as Apple doesn’t always allow other peoples apps to play on their phones. Thanks for the advice.

Have you ever used the App Store? 95% of the apps on there are NOT from Apple. ::)

All I remember is when I had google and Samsung phone certain things didn’t transfer to Apple.

Thanks for your advice earlier in this thread. I really wanted to know if there’s anything that can be done now to recover, not moving forward. Now go drink some cranberry juice.

Your Apple ID may be hacked but if the photos are on your phone they are not lost.  Simply follow the instructions I gave previously and all the photos on your phone will be saved to Google photos and they will remain there unless you  specifically delete them—even if you delete them from your phone.
