Title: Cycling
Post by: bhank on June 26, 2024, 08:28:32 AM
So Duchette is really into it and annoying or not the guy does stay lean and it is probably one of the best things you can do for your heart. So does anyone here cycle? I do some mountain biking downhill but gravity does most of the work. I also have a recumbent in my house I use a couple times a week. My son is now riding outside on the flats and my full suspension mountain bike is not doing well on flats too soft and very uncomfortable

Long story short I started researching recumbent bikes. I like the Cruzbike. But then I saw the trikes are now the big things. Does anyone else do any cycling?

These kinds of things can't decide which style I like better

LOL, it went from Sam Sulek on Tik Tok and now he's on to Greg Douchette.

This lazy bloated sob wants a recliner while riding a bike.

This further proves, he is lazy unemployed slob. Even riding a bike he is looking for the easy way out.

Rode just under 13 miles after lifting weights today.

I ride a junked bike found on garbage day during Covid.  Put about $150 into it...seat, tires, crank bearings, cables, etc.

No one will steal it.  Made in 1989.

Recumbent bikes are for old hippies.

Cycling is great, I have been toying with getting a bike, but can't decide if I want a road bike or a dual suspension mountain bike.

Used to have a guy who rode through our neighborhood and picked stuff out of everyone's trash.

You didn't used to live in the New Jersey suburbs in the 80s by any chance?

But I am pretty amazed at how many people dump bikes at our recycling center, that could be great with just a little work like you did.

I had a Rans recumbent.  The good is it's incredibly comfortable. Depending on how they are designed they could be fast or a dog.  What's dangerous is how low you are to the ground. Cars don't see you well.  Also there's the dork factor. I was always self conscious riding it.

I had two quality road bikes. In the end I never really enjoyed the ride because of the extreme riding position.  Ass up with head down with your neck cranked back should be reserved for whores and not a guy on a bike. A couple hours in that riding position I was miserable.

Mountain biking in the woods was a thing with me for awhile. It was a lot of fun but those really into it have a little Evel Knivel in them on the fast down hills. I just want an enjoyable workout and not a broken neck.

The last bike I bought and it might be my favorite was an expensive Cannondale Hybrid.  Upright riding position catching the wind slowing me down but it's a comfortable ride. It's good in the street and off road.  The thing is if you ride with guys that use road bikes you will never be able to keep up with them on these fat tire bikes. My personal thing is that I ride alone. If the bike is slow it doesn't matter. I'm getting the same workout pumping the pedals.

The biggest ride I had was in Iowa. My brother was a big bike enthusiast. He wanted to ride in this tour that had about 10K bikers in it. It was from the west of Iowa to the east approximately 100 miles a day in 90 degree summer heat. At night we camped in a tent that was about 180 degrees inside. He told me it's a tour and the pace wouldn't be too fast.  Bull shit. These guys hammered it every single day.  After 5 days and 500 miles covered I had trouble sitting down after being on that little racing seat. A few years later I sold all my road bikes.

Riding a bike is a great compliment to lifting. Your legs get pumped up and it's fun going outside out of the gym. The only thing is it takes time if you do any kind of distance. Both my brother and I are doing a lot more running. In a half an hour of running you can cover a lot of ground getting a quick cardio workout. My brother is 77 and he loves his age group bracket in 5k's, lol. It's a lonely age group bracket.

I find the recombinant bike to put the least amount of wear and tear while still being effective cardio.

Easy to use my phone if needed as while I ride too.

Most people don't want old bikes.  The new ones are so technologically advanced.

But for just riding around town you don't need a $2,000 bike.  At least I don't.

You were wondering about getting a road bike or mountain bike?

I have a road bike but don't use it.  Just too uncomfortable so I use the junker which is an early mountain/hybrid type bike.

If I had to get somewhere fast then the road bike would be better.

I average around 10 miles an hour when I ride.

I've borrowed a road bike and it was decent, but traffic, potholes and shit, plus the seat oldtimer so eloquently described, are all off putting to me.

I have a state park 2 miles down the road that actually has sponsored bike trails, so if I go the bike route, it will be for that stuff.

My brother in law is loaded and he has the same Schwinn road bike from 50 years ago till now. He said it works fine and he's right.

Those Schwinns were really good bikes.  Made in USA then.  Top quality.  Only available at Schwinn authorized bike shops.

Now Schwinns are made in China and sold at Walmart.  They sold the name off years ago.  Couldn't compete with Chinese labor.  Sad.

My road bike is a early 1980s Nishiki made in Japan.  I bought it new.  It's still in great condition.

Like you I find the riding position and seat uncomfortable.

I have a light aluminum bike with tubeless tires an old training partner gave me.........I`d go from Western Mass to deep into Connecticut all the time.

If you got a flat you were fucked....Fix A Flat was my friend.

IMO opinion.a treadmill or stair stepper is a better option cuz you are not sitting....you are "propelling yourself through space" so to speak......stair stepper is brutal.

Me and this chick I trained with who was a fucking animal and drop dead gorgeous, used to run the stadium stairs at St. Lawrence University then we`d sometimes do sprints.....sprints got my legs more sore than heavy Squats or Leg Press.

Airdynes/Assault bikes are the shit also....got an old one out in my shed all seized up and shit.

Recumbent bikes are for old hippies.

Cycling is great, I have been toying with getting a bike, but can't decide if I want a road bike or a dual suspension mountain bike.

2 polar opposites.

Road is uncomfortable, twitchy, the focus should be long rides so you might do 1.5hr-2hrs at a time sort of thing (IMO).

Dual suspension you’re talking enduro and downhill. A hard tail you can ride around and be fine.

The first question is are you wanting to ride for fitness (road easily wins this) or is it fun and some fitness (MTB easily wins this). If it’s the MTB, do you want to ride trails or just around the road? I’ve done track, road, DJ, XC, Enduro/downhill so I can maybe help out with some of my experience if you like?

I’m about to buy a DJ (Dirt Jumper) to ride at the new pump tracks build here. Soooo much fun!!! But it’s HIIT with max HR so it’s painful lol.

Thanks Mayday.

I've ridden road bikes.  Never cared for it.

I have marked bike trails near me - the kinds with bowling ball size rocks that require dual suspension (I think, from what I've seen from bikers on them).

I'd be riding for fitness, and for fun.  MTB seems like the wise choice.  If I pull the trigger, I'll hit you up beforehand for advice.

Appreciate it man.

I have a full suspension downhill mountain bike I ride now. The problem is it is not good for flats not efficient as too soft and not comfortable for longer flat riding the recumbent is more comfortable and efficient. I may actually go for the trike

Cardio is not and never will be good for your heart nor your muscles

A tricycle is the perfect choice for you, Bhanky.

You can put Spencer in the basket when you ride.

Your neck does not measure 18 inches. Stop your lying. Maybe when you were a bloated 230. Yes.

But there’s absolutely no way your neck measures over 14 maybe 15 inches.

You posted one video and deleted it because you were high as a kite.

Why do you refuse to ever post a video measuring your neck again? The simple answer is because, your lie will get exposed as usual

Could I have purchased a tour de France bike with a rock hard small seat and an upright position? Sure, but I would never ride it. The recumbent is ergonomic and comfortable not lazy. Big difference that means I will actually ride it.

What is better a really cool looking bike in the garage or a goofy looking one you actually ride and use?

This Cattrike is going to add years to my life and mobility. I took it on it's first ride last night planning one loop around the neighborhood to test it out and it was so comfortable I did 2.

This Cattrike is going to add years to my life and mobility. I took it on it's first ride last night planning one loop around the neighborhood to test it out and it was so comfortable I did 2.

"Sigh"...

And that is why I should not have said anything to you, either directly or in general.  At least now you know the term "tadpole" recumbent and I am certain you will use it at the shop where your bought your trike in your usual vainglorious effort to impress and imprint yourself on others.  You are a social simpleton, incapable of manners by reason of the feeling that you are superior to all.

My physical problems are multiple but nothing like your laundry list Miss Sybil.  They are a bit beyond  knee replacement and no, I cannot ride any recumbent or self-powered bicycle.

Your problems, both physical and mental, present themselves as a litany of possibly real and/or imagined maladies of which there is a list in these forums for us all to read and relish and grow with every passing moment of every primitive thought that escapes the bowels of what passes for a mind in you.

No one here or in the real world is stepping all over your flower garden.  Those footprints are yours, kiddo.

You are much bigger than me and I think  a Glide would fit you just fine.  I now have an '08 Ultra Classic that I want to put a sidecar on so I can putt around the street where I live with my grandchildren.

Extended front ends make U-turns impossible.  You'd need a state or two to make one with an out there front end.  I am scared out of what's left of my mind when I have to make one on a bike now.  ;D

I never split lanes as it's too scary for me and I am usually in the "slow" lane anyway.  ;D

MTB is awesome. I ride all over the place down here, doing my 4th trip to Tasmania and surprising my mates by hiring a helicopter for the day to fly us up the top of a huge downhill trails.

Ease into it. Ride flow trails. Build skills. I’m 45 this year and ride at a respectable pace. It’s been incredibly rewarding with personal goals. Some of my videos even made it onto the gorpro promo video (I won a GoPro award for drone video).

If you can only afford a very entry level bike, get a dirt jumper instead and ride pump tracks. You’ll have 10x more fun and be 10x more safe 😉

I have a downhill mountain bike I ride on the trails at Snowshoe they take the bikes up the chairlift and you just ride down the ski trails it is a lot of fun. However not the best bike for riding the flats and certainly nowhere near as comfortable as the recumbent. On the mountain bike on flats my ass shoulders back etc all hurt after about a mile

My home in the summer is in the north east in a ski town.

A couple years ago I was waiting for the lift to pick me up to go to the top of the mountain (not for biking) and I saw a guy finishing his run on his mountain bike at the bottom of the trail.

This fucker and was going way too fast hit a bump and went head first over his bike and ate it royally.

I thought he may need to go the hospital, but he ended up getting up on his own.

Worked out this morning then rode 17.5 miles on my junker.

Took this pic a year or two ago.

Found this bike on the curb during Covid and fixed it up.

Put extenders on the seat tube and handlebar tube.

It might be a women's bike.   ???  From what I've searched it's from Sears 1989

I've ridden it a lot of miles in the past couple years.

That type of frame is called a "Mixte Frame" and is suitable for either men or women.  I have owned and ridden them in the past and they are easier to get on/off of.   ;D

Where are you from ? Any chance you’re in Vic on which case have you done Arthur’s Seat or great ocean road at all?

From memory the great ocean road was not a safe spot to ride. Lots of cars, lots of cyclists = frustrated drivers and frustrated riders. Maybe it’s different now though.

All my riding is Gravity stuff, I stopped my road cycling about 6yrs ago.

There’s still a yearly ride along the great ocean road. Road bikes predominate. Forget the name but a mate of mine did it last year. It’s as you say not safe any other time. Scary enough riding a motorbike round there.

its hilarious

he is getting his arse handed to him daily here so is looking for new victims to praise him

Facebook is great for him

however he avoids questions about TRT (wants them to thin he is natty- like here)
quite laughably he tells them not to avoid leg day- despite his being leg extensions
he claims he has to show pics in his undies because shorts don't show enough
and someone asked if he is doing a show- he said its his summer condition after bulking- doesn't mention the show he did the one he is planning to do or the bottle of hgh a day

again like here he wants people to believe he is a genetic marvel and not a 20 years ped taker. sadly for him all it takes is one post on these boards to destroy hi. lets let his feet get under the table first then we will destroy him

meanwhile his right arm is withering away and his riding with pride flags on his wheelchair

I have had multiple Doctors previously that I was also paying say they can't do it. This guy has a different technique and does old pec repairs again not sure what part of that you still don't get or why it upsets you. He also has worked with multiple world champions in different sports before you start trying to say he is some kind of quack. But yeah between the surgery and the cost of a weeks vacation in California then being in a sling unable to move or pack anything for 6 weeks I am going to wait until after I move. I am not paying movers to move my gym I have to move that stuff myself and I need to be fully able to do it. Good things come to those with a little patience and planning

In 20 years stem cells will still be a promising treatment with a lot of potential and no results.

Good things come to those with a little patience and planning
they got to know you and realised you were a kunt so didnt want anything to do with you at any price.

Oh What I have looked into goes past that but also cost a lot more than a simple transplant like I said not high on priority list but on list will get hair fixed sometime in the next few years

Get hair fixed - Ha Ha Finally admitting you're a Baldy Khvnt

Incorrect progress is being made on the stem cell front but again not top of the list right now.

Brian, you want to spend money on a hair transplant. Why do you deny the fact you are pushing close to 50 with the health of a 70 year old.

full head of hair or not.

you look like a 70 year old in the face.

If he moves his gym himself it will be the longest most intense workout he's ever posted here.  He has about 20 minutes wind tops, even at a low level, how the hell is he going to move his gym himself?

It was a joke saying they were sponsoring him in the Charlotte Cup.

Kind of, a half-joke at best that I think he was hoping his comment might make a reality. But Hankins is so retarded/autistic/needy that his brain quickly twists something like that into actually claiming it true a few days later.

Hankins must think his arms look like Ronnie Coleman's or something.

I'm not sure they're better than Basile's, let alone so markedly better that it would offset Basile's superior balance, shape, flow, lines, legs, chest, etc....

He acts like the judges would be so impressed with them they'd overlook everything else.

you hoo Bianca - look again  your arms are not as good as vinces look at his triceps sweep
& the overall balance of his arms compared to your odd shaped & different size arms.

Yes your abs are sharper in that pic.
Vinces legs & overall shape & flow of his physique is in a different league to yours.

Truth & Facts Cup Cake things you have a very tough time understanding

He has 1 reasonable left arm - that looks all of 16inch & completely over shadowed by a fat bloated face
& an enormous Noggin - he had no idea or concept of shape, balance & flow - he has zero of any of them.
He thinks we're being mean - Well I'm not its the truth , he has a awful looking physique Fact.
