I have pec surgery scheduled in early November and it says 12 weeks in a sling then 9-12 months to return to sports. So that puts me back to full training upper body next winter. Earliest contest would be summer 2026. This is not a scope this is adding a cadaver Achilles tendon to my chest it’s going to take some recovery time.

My legs will get bigger during that time. As long as I train legs I won’t lose much. I just can’t train upper body right arm. I will still be training legs and the left arm. I never just stop working out
More importantly once healed I will be able to train harder and make more gains. I will go past where I am now having 2 pecs to train. Yes I am old and time is short but have some time to make new gains only 46. I am going to go further than I have been before. I can’t do that if I don’t fix the pec. I first tore it at 25 years old I can’t wait to get it fixed excited

Hope you don't bench heavy with that repair after rehabbing. I was lucky I had my repair done five days after the injury. The doc told me if I waited he would have had to use a dead guy's tendon too but since I had it immediately repaired it all worked out using my tendon that he sewed to a metal anchor.

I prepaid in full for it. I even prepaid my flight and hotel. It’s happening. Scarred to be put under the knife? I have had 3 shoulder surgeries. 2 knee surgeries. 1 tricep surgery. I was put under and cut up for every one of them. I have even come out bad I also have not come out from being under and they had to call the paramedics to revive me at the Gastro. So yeah it’s a little scary going under and getting cut up and doing months of rehab. But you have to look and plan ahead in life. The pec will not be as good as new but it will be better. It is not worth it to most people. It is worth it to me.
