That’s what the caption said. Anywayyyyyy
I thought that arm was bad until I looked at the other one reflected in the mirror. Damn.
-
not sure what to think lol... that arm in the mirror, wow.
-
Looks very good regarding his age. Great legs and overall mass.

Looks great.
All weed, DDP yoga, and HRT.

,OVERALL LABRADA LOOKS AWESOME,,DORIAN WAS MASSIVE AND TORN UP IN THE END,THATS TOUGH TO BALANCE WHEN ALL THAT MASS IS GONE,GASPARI WAS SOMEWWHERE IN BETWEEN THOSE 2 AND TORN UP AND STILL TRAINS RECKLESS.
-
Legs look great from all that cycling

what kind of cycling do you think was on ?

I think it needs to be viewed in the context of a pro juiced to the max vs what he is now. In that context, so many others look like shit comparatively.
-
He looks good, minus the bad arm.
If you met him on the street, and you knew nothing of bodybuilding, you could still tell that this guy was probably somebody important there once.
The old density, the fullness here and there all shine through.
Solid retirement physique.
-
Looks what you’d expect from a former multiple Mr Olympia, which is still pretty good for his age.
Dorian went through a depression after he retired facing reality while Ronnie lived a lie that goes until the present.
Bhank won nothing and lives a lie.
-
He looks great for his age and the fact he's not juiced to the gills. Didn't he tear the biceps and triceps on the same arm? He said after his triceps rupture he knew his bodybuilding career was over. Still looks great for a retired pro. How many guys retire and look like they never worked out in their life 8 months after giving up the drug lifestyle?

Probably picked up this trick in Hollywood when he starred in Kazaam
-
He took things past limits and his body is ravaged.
But he’s still living life and isn’t an obese sack of crap, so good on him.

Still running heavy cycles. I find it easy to believe Dorian is taking very low dose test and nothing else.

Outstanding physique at 62. Still serves as a source of inspiration

Whatever about dyeing your hair your beard is a bit much. Great build for his age but narrow enough to swim through the eye of a needle

Dude looks almost comical.

Goes to show, big arms is what makes someone look big, this guy looks small in a shirt from all the pics and videos I have seen

Oh yeah? What’s he running? Given your experience and expertise, I’d like to know. “Heavy cycles” is a meaningless term to a low-information guy like me.

He might have been running tren, dianabol, anadrol 50, anavar, winstrol v, equipose, clomid, HCG, insulin, diuretics and growth hormone during his Olympia run. Now he probably takes double the dose a doc would prescribe an ordinary guy that has hypogonadism of test.

Goes to show, big arms is what makes someone look big, this guy looks small in a shirt from all the pics and videos I have seen
You're entitled to your opinion. In my opinion BB is exactly right, the "density" he had still shines through, whatever that is it still shows. I think big arms looks great and youthful in a way, if you have those full muscle bellies. On many the muscles start getting shorter looking and damaged looking so if you have nice looking arms you look young. But I can think of a number of bodybuilders who don't look imposing and powerful yet have big arms.
Rory looks fucking amazing, and iirc he trains way too heavy with short ranges, the type of training that can damage you, you would think.
I don't remember how long Dorian had that torn arm, the triceps included, if he tore the tri on his last prep or what, but he was able to retain size for a while the muscles were dying.
Edit: I wonder if anyone here has noticed this aging sign on themselves or other bodybuilders. The muscle at the elbow on the upper side of the forearm, too lazy to look up what it's called, starts to shrink or dissapears when you get older. I noticed it and saw some comments about it on another forum. Someone had a theory on it, it's probably from a lifetime of wide grip pulldowns especially, and I also think it's really stressed on those.
One of the very first sad signs of aging on bodybuilders is you get a wrinkle on your lower pec line. You see the skin fold on Dorian but he's 62 but it starts at about 40. That's when you're no longer at your best. Just things you notice when you are bodybuilding-damaged.
-

Well we obviously can't be sure. But consider this, he says he uses 20mg of test enanthate a day. About 10mg would be average high rage but still in the normal range. Although drug metabolisms do differ somewhat. But here's the tell in my opinion. From what I've seen he's not attached to the big guy image at all, the way he lets himself be photographed and what he wears and so on. I prefer to believe him in this case and I'm the skeptical one people say. He's a very precise guy in his statements and in my opinion just comes across as trustworthy overall, on different subjects. Anyone else?
-
Looks like he damaged the right bicep a bit post retirement. Looks great except for the death arm. Is he lifting weights again? I know for a long time he was just doing cardio and yoga because of an improperly repaired supraspinatus but he looks like he might be doing some of the real stuff again.
-

The truth in what someone takes will never be confirmed. Maybe their drug dealer gurus can tell us.

Dorian is straight up always has been, especially now in retirement, although he was also very honest with his use privately back in the day. Pre contest especially the last 6 weeks he was always pretty quiet about but that's also a very personal journey meaning what works for him won't for you etc, and no one likes advising on water diuretics etc. As we all have different threshold, he might be an old stoner but he's still a good source of information for many.
-

I can understand why you would think that given your genetics.
-
The truth in what someone takes will never be confirmed. Maybe their drug dealer gurus can tell us.
A lot of times you can guess pretty accurately if you have seen a lot of people use PEDs and taken it yourself. Drug use is something bbers lie about for pretty childish reasons, though understandable from a psychological pov, but you have to take in the total picture as well as you can and decide if someone is straight or not. I have never seen any bodybuilders doubt Dorian's status now in retirement.

Yea he just seems pretty straight up and pretty together mentally too especially considering all the dope. Though he does veer pretty conspiracy minded and I think drugs can facilitate that. But maybe he's right about what he believes... :D

He tore at least one biceps and triceps during his pro days. Left arm I guess and by the looks of it his right biceps too.
A travesty that he was allowed to win an Olympia with such damaged arms.

No one pictured in this thread that's retired is running "heavy cycles" or probably not even cycles of anything other than some some TRT at therapeutic doses (1-200mg/wk) maybe in Lee's case some GH at 2iu's because he's smart..MAYBE. I know this is Getbig but lets have a little reality check.

I consider myself retired, no more competing, I currently take 150mgs test e a week and a tab of proviron every 3 days or so
I am still full and in good shape about 12%
Bearing in mind the dosage you take while competing it really doesnt make a reasonable difference.
Its like you have to take 10 times the dosage to get twice the benefit

Well, when Lee took those shots a few years ago, he was on considerable cycles imo. Total dosage wasn't outrageous but there was tren, masteron, a good dose of GH, orals etc. He was freaking grainy and hard unlike ever before when he competed. I don't think anyone experienced looked at those pics thought this was 100-200 test and MAYBE 2iu GH. GH at more than 2iu was a complete given, zero question about it. How are you going to be in some ways better than 30 years before otherwise.
I would say Rory is on more than strictly HRT for sure but who cares really, he's doing well regardless. I would bet he's on a good dose of Deca in addition to a cycling dose of test at a minimum, all those from his generation loved Deca :D
Dorian is in some ways "big" still but he"s not even trying to look jacked and he isn't looking like Labrada with the graininess, vascularity and cuts.

Brachioradialis
The one that is super developed on Phil Heat. And on some like you said it's gone.
Im not sure why some muscle just dissapear. It's like that commonly dissapearing gastroc calf muscle

Oleg Zhok I think? If so he only has it on the left forearm. He’s formidable in arm wrestling. I think I read somewhere he actually has a genetic mutation in that foresrm with an extra bone and two sets of certain muscles but that could’ve been brotalk bs.
In any event strong/well developed forearms do convey a look of real strength. When I was in my 20s I thought it odd that bodybuilders seemed to be getting bigger and bigger arms but not so much forearms. Relatively speaking of course. I was naive at the time didn’t know what seos were or how problematic they’d be to augment forearms

I think it's well established it's a back/nerve issue that causes the disappearing gastroc. Even Dorian has this on one calf.

Some old bodybuilding courses discouraged direct forearm work so as not to make the upper arms look less impressive.

I'm of the opinion, without discounting the need for direct work for optimal results, that genes account for most in bodybuilding and if you have the genes for big forearms you will have them, direct forearm work or not or straps or not. Are we to believe Phil Heath had a brutal forearm routine or that he didn't use straps (like every single pro bb)? What does everyone think? Branch Warren didn't stimulate his forearms enough (he also had the disappearing brachioradialis)? I don't mean to sound attacking, I don't even know what you believe, just giving my opinion in good humor. 8)

bhanks has a similar genetic anomaly with an extra muscle in his back.

Don't forget "The Jetman" Tony Pearson, who won the AAU Masters Mr. Universe at 63.

bhanks has a similar genetic anomaly with an extra muscle in his back.
The extra muscle frequently observed in his back is exogenous. His genetic anomaly is latent homosexuality.

They are much like calves.

Dorian is in very good shape considering he's said mulitple times he hasn't done any resistance training in years. Yoga, mountain biking, weed and a vegetarian diet - and he still looks like that? Good genes on that fella.

Nerve compression at the spine. Stops sending enough signal to the muscles, therefore it shrinks.

Using chalk with a hook grip multiples ones grip hability a lot.

I was of that thought aswell I made a whole thread about it.
https://www.getbig.com/boards/index.php?topic=675241.msg9663625;topicseen#msg9663625
But I also heard on a podcast that Iain Valiere(spelling?) said his was caused damaged blood vessles in the(or to the) calf that caused his. There wasn't much blood supplied to the muscle so it "died off" kind of
-
Some old bodybuilding courses discouraged direct forearm work so as not to make the upper arms look less impressive.
I don´t think they needed it as these old timers did heavy basic lifts without straps.
it´s a bit like ab training... maybe some direct work before a contest but not important if doing indirect training such as tricep pushdowns, infact Steve reeves mentioned this in his Book.
Vince Gironda might be different as he did train Forearms on his prodigies...Zottman curls is an example.
Mohamed Makkawy had huge lower arms
-
not sure what to think lol... that arm in the mirror, wow.
Yeah that is why he retired but you would have thought they could do something for it
-
Yeah that is why he retired but you would have thought they could do something for it
thats nerve damage..a good friend of mine had bone spurs growing in his neck, pinching a nerve.. his arm went from 18 down to 14-15 inches in a matter of of 6 weeks.. he had surgery and its been around 6 months the arm size still hasnt come back much..looks just like that ..it may or it may not come back he was told by doc. hes healthy, just looks like shit
-
Rory dyes his hair and has never had a real job in his life he also got Tony mandarich hooked on nubain
What's a real job then?

Yeah that is why he retired but you would have thought they could do something for it
they cant, just like you cant do anything for your pec, but yeah spend 20k to find out

bitter hasbeen/neverwas critics talking shit about Dorian, who looks good at 62. considering he's been smoking weed, eating mushrooms, drinking ayahuasca, playing touch-butt in the park for the last 20yrs
