Anorexic patients take something. Underweight children also, so it must be health friendly.

Hes 87 and had a heart attack a year ago. The lack of appetite seems to have started three years ago. I have him drinking meals, which naturally now kaiser wants to do away with. They are forcing a man with no appetite to eat somehow....

MK-677. I thought the appetite boosting effect had sort of petered out for me, but running it again the past 10 or so days I jacked up the dose to 40mg and the appetite is insane again. They have tested this in the elderly, for example to stave off Alzheimers, but say it will never be on the market due to the appetite stimulation. The serious side I get, and most others, is extreme sleepiness. I slept 8 hours last night, took some Vyvanse, was up for 4 hours and slept another 7 ::)

One appetite stimulant which might be advantageous, especially if there's insomnia too, is mirtazapine. It will increase appetite and there's almost always weight gain.

I'm taking two forms of B12 right now, one is adenosylcobalamin and is supposed to sometimes increase appetite. Hard to tell if it does now that I'm on the MK.

Was he getting those nice RTDs with all the vits and mins along with protein? Many elderly are picky and don't want to drink those either but they taste so good and are light.

I have a client who's 91..eats twice a day. My mom is 87, grazes. The only real "meal" she eats is an egg and maybe a piece of toast in the morning. Aside from the heart attack and probably being on few meds (which might be suppressing his appetite in itself) as long as he's getting in some thing during the day, don't worry about it. He'll eat when he's ready.

Has he been diagnosed with Addison's disease? That leads to low cortisol which takes away your desire to eat.

Hes lost a lot of weight. From 210 down to the upper 140s recently. This occured in less than a year. We are trying to get his weight up around 165 ish. Without the shakes he wont eat. At all. Ive left him to do his thing and he wastes away...

Do you notice any increased recovery, muscle building or other benefits from 40mg?

From what I've read, there isn't much more of an increase of HGH from what is achieved at 10mg, but IGF-1 does raise more at higher doses.

Has anyone tried Agmantine sulfate? It looks promising.
