Unchained is a good example. Great opening, great riffs, total homo shit in the middle.

Agreed. We called it "boomer rock" when younger, acceptable heavy rock for my seniors. Kind of what Metallica became later on. Heavy metal should be a bit "dangerous" and not completely acceptable I thought :D Almost hate hearing the usual AC/DC classics at the gym. I think the album Razor's Edge had a couple of darker tracks I liked a bit but you never hear those on the "radio"...

Yes, the studio producer talking mid song is dumb but I do like that song. I just block that part out.

Didn't expect that to ever pop up on getbig (used to love Ride vapour trail)

Also other good scottish indie bands of that era: Primal Scream, teenage fanclub. And Waterboys "whole of the moon" was a bit earlier but worthy of mention

Same venue resulted in me babysitting blur one saturday night. Vapour trail is a fucking timeless classic, fond memories of leave them all behind too. teenage fanclub is another one from the era. Not uk but Iwas a bit fond of the sugar cubes too
