That's an interview I want to hear!!!
-
Once again PDI guys are swept to the side. I understand if Wayne does not want to come in but I know Jack would love to add his 3 cents and I think Lee would be an awesome guest.
I wonder if PBW is banned from bringing on PDI guys...
-
Anyone remember him fielding that ball in right, and it went off his head into the stands for a homer? :D
-
.
and a nicer physique

They say they interview whoever they want.
True, they recently had on a muscletech scientist to tell us about how good a new muscletech product was. Also the 95 Arnold Classic winner was some cutting edge news... hell, Mike Francois said he didn't even follow the sport anymore.
Monster fair & balance!

Wow WHAT A SCOOP!!!!
Monster ability to land an interview 2 years after it was news.

Jose Canseco on Pro Bodybuilding Weekly - July 10th
The voice of professional bodybuilding returns on Monday with special guest Jose Canseco. The former American League MVP smashed 462 homeruns during one of the most controversial careers in baseball history.
The originally scheduled guest, Jim Manion, had to bow out because he still has the flu, however he promises to reschedule as soon as his schedule permits, providing the planets are all in proper allignment, his magic eight-ball says it's okay, and assuming he doesn't get re-infected with this nasty flu he's has for seven months.

Did you know he's playing baseball again...since last week?
Yeah, O for 4 and got hit by a pitch.
Then he demanded a trade.
What the hell league is he playing in anyways???? I think the team he was on was called the San Diego Surf Dogs or something like that?
As the rest of the real sports world laughs at him now (won't even bother to interview him anymore, as he has nothing else to add)....BBtalk radio lands him as a "monster guest"
-
Holy Schit Conseco has hit a new low. First he's playing baseball for some no name fake baseball league and now he's going on an internet bodybuilding radio program.
He must be desperate to get that movie he's been pimping made.

;D ;D ;D

In addition to our conversation with Jose Canseco, we'll also be chatting with Don Long about his plans to "comeback" after massive kidney failure...and daily, self administered, dialysis treatments.

one request-
don't let the co-shot BS the listeners when it comes to the way he addressed the issue online. he denied it, insulted those who said don was planning a comeback.
then, he said that as the athlete's rep, it's his job to 'protect the athletes from themselves'. I would throw some challenging Qs at his soapbox :)
-
Canseco has nothing to do with pro bodybuilding. Keep him and his controversy off the program and away from our sport.
seriously. big scoop but wrong show.
how hard is it to just set up another round table?

Dan won't go after Bob... he has to work with him every week. You should know better than that. He did throw a few curve balls at Kamali 2 weeks ago, so he's not a total whimp, but he won't shit where he eats.

Ask Don if he blames "Advil" for his condition. ;D

I have faith in Dan.
All I ask is that he doesn't sit idly by while Bob rants about how all the message boards were wrong about Don, and how he knew all along. That would be some brutally poor journalism. Also, i'd like to see if Bob will indeed back up his statement that he is there to 'protect Don form himself', and if he means to say that a grown man in the sport of BBing is not capable of making his own decisions. I think dan will poke him a little on it- recently he's been more than a cheerleader. IMO, the less rah-rah and buddy-buddy they are, the better the show gets. Nobody wants a 60 minute BBing.com commercial...

Conseco has beaten his wife. Gotten into fights in nightclubs in his late 30's. He's been sentenced to jail time on numorous occasions. He juiced to the gills to play baseball and then wrote a book about it selling out every other baseball player. And this tool went on that stupid VH1 show the Surreal Life.
That show couldn't be anymore embarrassing. The idiots that go on that show are so desperate for attention I doubt VH1 even pays them. Only the most washed up of washed up losers go on that abortion of a show.
From the Surreal Life to a Bodybuilding Internet Radio show, sounds about right.

PBW is a show that follows bodybuilding? ???
;D
-
why would Jose Canseco be on a bodybuilding show, he has 21 inch legs and 16 inch arms, i saw him on a show shoulder pressing a massive pair of 30lb. dumbells.
-
Brutal weight.

And Jose Canseco is on Pro "BODYBUIDING" Weekly why?
In the past 72 hours, Jose Canseco has appeared on CNN, ESPN and MSNBC regarding his on-going feud with major league baseball. His book remains a NY Times best seller. As much as we "love to hate" Jose, there is no denying that his appearance on the show will draw an expanded audience. - We are always exploring new ways to grow the audience....and bring more attention to the sport of bodybuilding. Needless to say, our core focus on PBW will ALWAYS be bodybuilding. -- In the case of Jose Canseco, he authored one of the most notorious "tell all" books in the history of professional sports. Perhaps he might have some advice for any "pro bodybuilders" with similar ambitions. :)
-
What else can Canseco tell us that he hasn't already? Okay, baseball players use steroids. BFD. PBW is the final step before Canseco does gay for pay.
-
When is "Baseball Tonight" going to have Ronnie on to return the favor?

Of course you would have him on, he's by far the most famous person you've ever had on the show. The question is why would he go on an internet radio bodybuilding program?
No offense but he's continues to reach new lows.
Conseco was a 40/40 guy at one time and had the talent to be a 50/50 guy. It's sad.
When is "Baseball Tonight" going to have Ronnie on to return the favor?
LOL
-
how is pbw a low? its the most popular internet radio show focusing on bodybuilding

PBW... about scumbags, by scumbags, for scumbags

For what it is PBW is relatively wide reaching but for a former MLB superstar it's the lowest of lows.

well hell, with that theory line up ole greg valvolino to be on the show, he brings attention to bb, steroids, fucked up living, keep lining up the dirtbags for this 6th rate freak show parade.

Yes hitting balls with a stick wearing skin tight pants takes a lot of courage.
-
When is "Baseball Tonight" going to have Ronnie on to return the favor?
" Everybody wants to hit homeruns, but nobody wants to lift no heavy-ass weights! "
" Zito's curve, Santanna's change-up, and The Big Unit's slider ain't nothing but a peanut. Light weight baby! "
Ronnie could put Peter Gammons, Tim Kurjukin, and John Kruk through a workout. That could be funnier than watching Ronnie take batting practice.
John Kruk always said " I'm a ballplayer, not an athlete. " And even though he is a fat-ass, and retired for a while, i bet he would dominate Coleman in almost any sport right now, not just baseball. I know Coleman used to play college football, but his size would hinder him so much that I would rather have Kruk on my team for either Pick-up basketball, or flag football, not just softball.
Say what you want about Lou Ferrigno, but in the late 70's, he lost about 20lbs, and dominated The Superstars Competition, and that was with coming in second in the weightlifting event. Ferrigno had good speed, actually great for his size, and was good enough to almost play in the CFL, after never playing organized football.
He represented the sport of bodybuilding very well in both the Superstars and The World's Strongest Man competition.
Sure, guys from the Ironage were no where near as big or freaky, but they looked and were far more athletic. Ronnie was a good athlete, but he would have to lose so much weight and probably shift his training for over a year or two, to compete in something like World's Strongest Man or Superstars.
As freaky as these guys are today, which makes them so popular among the niche bodybuilding fans, is what also stops them from becoming popular in mainstream.
-

Courage? Bast, baseball is just a game/sport. I think when you start using overblown hyperbole like 'courage' to describe it or any game you might want to reassess your perspective. Good luck tomorrow for your team tho. :)
/still thinks the diving is a pansy move. my british dad, however, blames the s. americans for 'importing' the 'dive' to the european game. "they ruined the game" i hear him say all the time.

Not a good criterion. Anyone not good enough to play real football in the NFL, can usually find a place on a CFL team, Ricky Williams being the latest example.

I think Canseco is a cool motherfvcker, why all the hate?
he is nothing but a low life rat, if wanted to write a book exploiting the steroid use in the MLB fine, but he did not have to go off naming everyone that he knew who used them, lame. ::)

Maybe they could get some others on with Jose and have a "rat round table"?

To the staff on pro BBing weekly
Canseco is a man who chose to use steroids for years. Then, he called out his friends and teammates in the press, publicly outing them and destroying their reputations. He even went so far as to GUESS about other guys' use.
Dan,
Question 1- Are you paying him to be on the show?
Question 2- Are there certain Qs that are off-limits?
Question 3- Would you have Osama bin Laden on the show, if it would increase listener numbers?
Question 4- Do you think Canseco's appearance will bring positive or negative attention to the sport?
-
Answers.
1. Yes or he will be promoting another one of his books or movies, Jose does not do anything unless there is something in it for Jose....trust me, even though he is a washed up nobody playing in below single A ball, even he is too famous for an internet talk radio show on bodybuilding.
2. The better question is are there questions which you are being forced to ask....such as "Jose tell us about your new book" or "Jose what do you have planned coming out that the listeners should check out"
3. Nope. The only people who listen to this show are those who frequent BB sites already. I sincerely doubt there is one single person who is following Jose's Career so closely that they knew he would be on BB radio and were like, damn, that radio show is so professionally put together maybe I should start buying supplements off BB.com and muscletech and going to shows. ::)
4. It won't bring any attention. No one who is not already following BB knows about BB talk radio.

Let that segment of the show be about Don, and not about Bob.

Before they get Don on the phone, we'll likely hear a 4 minute soliloquy from Bob anyway.

Hey Dan. I have no problem with Jose Canseco or him being on PBW. I was just curious as to why. I do think it should bring some attention to the show and maybe the sport. I just hope it's positive. We already have enough "issues" of our own. ;D

Smells like a turd covered in burnt hair.

Did they ask him about his interest in BBing? Or is drugs the only thing he has in common with the sport? (If so, why even have him on?)
