Im actually gonna try and up my weight a bit in the next few months. This summer I strayed away from BBing and have been training more for athletics. I'm down about 10-15 lb from my heaviest.

... it's nice to be ripped for the summer months though! ;D

Thanks to all of you for the positive comments. And Alexxx, don't worry mate, I'm not entering Mr GetBig this year, so you're safe for now... Next year however, you'll have problems!

yeah, my chest is my weakest body part. It is starting to thicken out, just takes longer than the others. I've recently found that I'm getting good results by introducing lots of super-sets (bench press/dips & incline press/cable flyes)... the pump is insane!

Looking good dude.  I would skip the super sets!  Youll burn to much.  Go heavy on the chest bench, incline and flyes!  Work each muscle once a week youll add thickness.  Also make sure your getting enough protein 1.5 grams per pound of bodyweight.  Youll see a diffence in a few months.

I've got one last athletics comp this Sunday. Once I've done that I'm dropping athletics and will then be training purely for size again.

Like i said earlier, I'm still down by at least 10lb from when I was at my heaviest. I broke my wrist last September, so that fucked things up a bit... hence the athletics (just a filler).

I'll drop the supersets in a few weeks. By then I'll have done a couple of months - I'll go hard and heavy after that. THen I can see which I respond to best...

I'll post a couple more pics in a few months. Hopefully i'll be around 210 and fairly lean.

Smart move...I'm under the personal belief that when you train for bodybuilding, some athletic training should be involved as well!

I agree it's always good to maintain a certain amount of athletic ability. The problem I've had this year is that I've actually been doing quite well for my athletics club and am being pushed more and more... unfortunately, as a result, the amount of cardio based training I have been doing increased about 300%. I enjoy it, but am losing far too much lean tissue.

IMO if you run more than about 5 miles a week, your body will shed muscle - regardless of nutrition/resistance training. I prefer size to athletics, so athletics is gone!

Looking good, mate. Ripped with some size still.

Glad you know your direction is into bodybuilding (I gather). I'm stuck on either sprint athletics of bodybuilding, since I love them both (although never competed.)

Looking good bro. Overall nice build.
What weight do you have? I'm roughly the same height so it'd be interesting to compare.

Cardio can help you build hard quality muscle imo, but it's def. not good for your size. But you got the beach-body look going so thats not bad.

Yeah, BBing is my passion. Recently I've tried a few other sports. I'm very competitive and wanted a sport that I could compete at a high level.

My main problem with BBing is that to become truly great at the sport, "gear" is  a must, and I'm just not willing to join the dark side.

Regardless of the competitive aspect of the sport, I love BBing and have decided to keep my focus with that for now.

danielson, cheers!... you're right, the ladies REALLY like it!

and MOS, like i said in my earlier posts, i'm natural, only been training a few years, I've been doing 3x more cardio than usual, hardly any "bodybuilding training" and i'm down by about 10lb from my heaviest.

I'm back to it now, and am training and eating my arse off. I'll post more pics in a couple of months... if i'm no bigger, flame away!... can't say any fairer than that.

Stanco, your weight seems a little high, especially for being lean...
Title: Re: my pic

I'm sure i'm 200lb in the first pic, that was only a week ago. The legs picture is older, about 2 months ago, so i will be a little under there. I'm 'thicker' than I appear on the pics, my next ones in a few months will be better. I'm relying on muscle memory - should pack on size fairly quickly...

...that's the plan anyway. I'm confident there will be a huge improvement.

Title: UPDATE - my pic
Post by: st@nco on August 30, 2006, 09:56:34 AM
It's been exactly one month and I've added 6lbs! Which, as you'd expect, I'm really pleased about. Although I'm eating all the time, I don't seem to be adding much BF... so I'm hoping most of the 6lb is muscle. As I mentioned in earlier posts, I was down about 6-7lb from my heaviest, so that probably explains the rapid weight gain. I'm not expecting to keep growing at this rate... although it would be nice!

This pic was taken yesterday, I'll post a few more in a couple of months. Am hoping to be around 16st.
Title: Re: my pic
Post by: st@nco on August 30, 2006, 04:05:43 PM
You're very lean, but have a good amount of muscle on you, especially if you're natural. If you're running track, you probably wouldn't want to get much bigger, but I'm sure you can if you put your mind into it.

I've quit athletics now... hence the weight gain.

Good stuff. St@nco, you on any drugs? If not, I'd like to know your diet, as you seem to have grown a bit but still very lean (small bodyfat).

No drugs, never have. My diet is simple. I always eat clean, try to eat every 2-3 hours. One area that my diet goes against convention, is I am very relient on protein shakes. They account for probably 60% of my total protein intake. I know people claim whole foods are better, but f*ck it, I've been using almost 10lb of whey every month for about 2 years... and it seems to work for me.

I have a fast metabolism, so staying lean is quite easy. Recently, to bump up my calories, rather than protein shakes, I've been eating huge bowls of fruit and nut muesli with 2 scoops of whey. It tastes F-ing awesome! If I have 3 bowls a day (breakfast, mid-afternoon snack and before bed) that's around 1800cals... simple and clean!

The only other supplement I use is creatine. I've found I get best results from Chemical Nutrition - Pro GF. I love the stuff. Every time I use it, I add a couple of pounds.
