I forgot what exercise I was doing like two weeks ago, but I had the worse migraine ever in the gym. I definitely wasnt breathing correctly and got it from that, now for the last two weeks I had to take a pain reliever before the gym and carefully watch my breathing or I will suffer a terrible headache. What causes this and is there a remedy? Did this happen to anyone else, It happened to me a long time ago and I had to take like two weeks off of training heavy... what gives with the gym headaches ?

I got it once. put the bar to high on my neck. Any time I got hype or yelled it would throb and I couldn't see straight. It will take a couple months to go away.

I can play basketball and do hard cario with nothing happening but for the last two weeks unless I take some painkiller before the gym, it comes around !! I dont want to have to take Ibuprofen or Tylennol every time i go to the gym for a couple of months..

ive got headaches before after ive been squatting and it just went away after a few hours.it could be caused by pressure building up after heavy exertion or something like that,i dont think its anything to worry about cause ive heard of it happening to other people too,but it could be so you should get it checked out by a doctor if its worrying you

I had that happen. I was straining on a pec deck and a headache came on. After that, everytime I trained I got a bad headache in the back of my head.
I had a massage therapist do some very deep and painful work on my neck. The headaches were gone after that.
I guess it was a pinched nerve.

Yes i had exactly what you had and i had to stop training for more then a week.
It has everything to do with breathing correctly.
I had it two times with bench press and legg press. I puted too much pressure on my head without breathing on pushing the weights out.
I felt it on the back of my head. even masterbating wasn't possible for me.

nubain is an opiate based painkiller.some bb take it so they can train through the pain.its definitely not a good thing to take because before you know it you wont be able to train without it then you wont be able to even do everyday things without it.nubains the same kind of drug as heroin and morphine so if you want to end up selling your ass for cash like sgt D you should take it.if not steer well clear

Yes it's horrible. the first time i was so angry i wanted to continue my workout but the pain was so bad it was shaking for a few minutes in my head when i stopped.

the headache youre describing is caused by a blood pressure "spike". it happens when a) using bad breathing technique during a heavy or hard set, or b) lifting with high blood pressure to begin with.... hope this helps...

I put the same thread about a month ago. It happened twice for me in the same week. Now ist gone. What i did to eliminate this:
- never forget to breathe
-stop smoking 2 cigarettes before a workout
- im doing 5 min warmup cardio for the first time in my life
- be careful when doing more than 20 reps on (hack) squats.

I drank a ton of water
warmed up on cardio
first set of incline barbell my head started to hurt
called my doc said to only do cardio cause it doesnt cause headaches and to rest.
Going in on friday for a checkup

I had this once! actually scared the hell 0utta me! i was doing leg press too heavy for what I should have been doing and i think i didn't breathe properly, anyways it felt like a massive amount of pressure in my head, then for the next week or so no matter what excersise i did, when i pushed hard i could feel it in my head, fuck it even happend if i was taking a shit! haha but it went away after about a week or so and i've been fine. this happend about 5-6 years ago when i was just starting to train.
