Title: Everyday training?
Post by: Lugar on September 14, 2006, 08:53:28 AM
When on, is it detremental to train 7x a week?  I have a very hard time staying out of the gym....if I feel good and have sat in an office all day, is it truly detremental to do SOMETHING daily?

I'm a true believer in rest and letting everything heal as best as possible so i only train with wieghts 4 days a week.

on the weekends i might play basketball or do some swimming out in the sun...

to answer your question i don't think it's a good idea to train hard with weights more than 5 days a week but doing "something" like cardio or just any physical activity probably won't hinder gains too much, if at all.

my problem is if i'm too physical during the week my shoulders and knees start to ache, that is one reason why i usually never do anything physical on sunday or wendsday, i just let everything rest. if i'm cutting weight i'll do some light cardio on those days.

six one...165 wet....i wouldnt worry about staying lean...id worry about falling through the drain when you take a shower!!!!!!

seriously, if youre on and training intensely, dont worry about getting fat. it sounds like your metabolism is heated anyway. food is #1, training is a close second, then rest, then drugs. dont limit your carb intake like a crazy man, YOU NEED THE CARBS AT  165!!!!!

train on a 3 on, 1 off, and for gods sake....dont eat like a bodybuilder!

Why not? Doesn't he need the calories if he's only 165, especially at his height? Explain your comment.

absolutely......he needs calories....but he doesnt need to kill himself with chicken breasts and yams for the next 12 weeks. he needs to EAT. he can afford to get a little dirty with the diet.....hes a bean pole (not in a bad way lugar...im not making fun of you...merely commenting)

I think he means dont eat the typical brown rice, brocoli and chicken or fish diet.  This cat needs some calorie dense food I would say potatos, beef, peunut butter, avacados, beans etc.  that kind of stuff.  I think Lugar has some issues.  Worried about getting fat all the time, when he is soooo skinny.  I have not weighed 165 since jr high and im 5'7" Alright I was a "husky" kid LOL

Title: Classic OVERTRAINING
Post by: mem on September 15, 2006, 10:57:17 AM

Lugar we have kind of been
over this at times before,
we are all here to help
each other . . .

BUT some people ask for advice and
GO AHEAD and keep doing the same
mistaken things, what about you?

Classic OVERTRAINING appears to be the case
with your program dude. Also EASY to do TOO much
cardio, IF one IS TRYING to bulk man . . .

(NO flame intended)

Sorry to say this . . .
Its NO wonder you cannot put
on size and your hormones
are seemingly unstable.

Increasing caloric density
and greater amounts
of inactivity or rest
needed to grow . . .
(drugs or not)

Optimum Sports Nutrition
a must read for someone
who asks the questions
that you do . . .

http://www.amazon.com/Optimum-Sports-Nutrition-Your-Competitive/dp/0962484059

I have struggled with many aspects
of your diet and training routines
(as expressed in threads)
sorry to say that.

Your posts have all held a similar
slant to them, I never have felt
like I could help you that much.

Buy this book IT would be the best
$$ that you'll spend to help you
tailor you program better . . .

Good Luck !!!

couple of eggs, a little piece of chicken, and a little piece of salmon.......and a SHITLOAD of nada!!!

see what i mean? youre trying to eat like a contest diet bodybuilder....why? with overtraining and undereating all you will gain is motivation loss....

do you eat steak/ red meat?
can you eat more chicken?
baked potatoes....with butter?
a pancake every once in a while?

eat like a real person....make gains...then adjust accordingly. fuck 87 scoops of protein a day....you barely evan chew any of the meals you listed!!!!!!!  cut your powders down to breakfast and post workout and EAT THE REST OF YOUR CALORIES!

He understands just fine but refuses to ACCEPT the fact that he has a problem.  He knows he can't "fix it" alone, yet he won't seek professional help.

Lol

Now I hate TA for this but you might want to try his gay diet just for a week. Then back to your regular food.

As for your cals try this for a breakfast meal, just once to see if you like it.

3x30g of oatmeal [grounded]
2 scoops of whey [est. 21g protien]
hand full of raisins
and teaspoon of Cinnamon

The Breakdown:

87g of complex carbs
15g simple carbs
42g of protein
Nice taste, alittle chunky but good.

How to make, add the oatmeal and whey together, add water [not alot just enough] throw in the raisins and the Cinnamon , then microwave for one minute. Stir and nuke again for 30 seconds.

Bump- the best gains I got was from training 3-4 days per week- short hour long intense workouts- that all you need- let your body rest to get the best growth possible- not smart to train everyday unless your hitting a diffent bodypart everyday- even then its a waste of time- you can get everything trained in just 3-4 sessions per week-

Get it thru your head that you need to eat your ass off.  No special written diets no weighing of food just eating till you are full and then a little more.  No damn oats, no low fat.  I would eat lots of triple cheese burgers, chilli, big ass burritos if I was you, pasta, potatos, more beef.

I bet you were a "picky eater" as a kid.  4 days a week of training should be plenty, big basic excersises.  An NO cardio!! its the last thing you need.  After you put on 50 lbs then we will start to consider the cardio again.

Im also guessing Lugar that you suffer from high anxiety, this will burn calories like you would not believe.  Relax! I can feel the anxitey in your writing.  Eat more train less!  You see THIS IS THE WAY you seek.  You just have to able to accept it.

Please do not post another diet.  And no crying about loss of definition, do you thing concentration camp lean is a good look?  Cause it sounds like thats where you are now.  If you wanna change that then heed the advice.

Your either bulking or you are cutting
first of many mistakes - too many conflicting
aspects of approach to diet and training.

Lugar, You have got to build a decent base
before you even think of cutting, at your
height and weight (I am sorry to say)
you are too skinny to worry about cutting
you will loose too much muscle in the
process . . .

You have got to build a wall
before you paint it . . .
Read: bulk and then cut . . .

Hire a personal trainer and get specific
direction - way beyond the scope of
what we are capable of here.

you lose the sight of your abs every time you get dressed in the morning......do you freak out everytime you put a shirt on?

so why would you care if you gained a little "weight" to put on some mass?

simple question: do you want abs, or do you want mass then abs?

Stop spending so much time planning your diet and measuring food and just start eating. Make sure your protein intakeis high and just stuff your face. after a couplemonths you can start making adjustments and measuring oz of pre-cooked chicken.
