And we all know that he doest have anything better to do than be on here spilling hate for the PDI, Lee, Rhino. What's up with that? Has Robert matured beyond kicking the man when he's down?
-
I think he's somewhere laughing his ass off.
When he catches his breath....I'm sure he'll post
-
He always disappears when he is wrong.
Why do you think he's "shittin on the show"?" It's the truth...like the 100 people that were in attendance...and the 61 that attended last night.
he'll be on the radio tonight, probably avoiding the topic of the 1400 people at the NOC on Sat night.
-
TA has also been suspiciously silent lately, fueling the growing rumors that TA is one of Chick's gimmick accounts...
-
Just what were you guys expecting? I think the results speak for themselves....
I do think it's funny how the PDI supporters have claimed some sort of victory that the show even took place...I guess it is, given that the other attempts have fallen short over the past 2 years.
I gave the show a 50/50 chance of taking place...I guessed wrong.
I gave Lee a 50/50 of actually showing up...I guessed wrong on that also.
What else is there to say?

Bob was quick to claim that attendance at the NOC was 61 heads on BB.com!
-
Get your facts straight...I said the attendance for the fri night show was around 61 people (from my sources) Sat. was around 100 for prejudging (including the press/ etc) and the Sat night finals was reported to be anywhere from half full to 3/4 full (est.1200 if we take the higher number) with 500-1,000 tickets given out free...
I'll give it 200 paid for the sake of discussion...that would cover very little (maybe some of the purse).
I think the fans and sponsors have shown where their interests are...

Maybe you could comment on the complete lack of qualty 85% of the competitors displayed. or perhaps you would likle to make fun of "Rhino" for looking like he was an out of shape natural competitor who just got home from a 4 day binge in Vegas.
-
It's exactly what I thought it would be, nothing more, nothing less...stating the obvious would accomplish nothing.
The only people thinking this would be some sort of "competition" for the IFBB, are PDI supporters that have wishful thinking, and that are anti-IFBB...
The bottom line is...If Wayne thinks he has some sort of market to draw off of...all the power to him.
I don't personally believe there is enough talent pool to draw from, or enough supp companies willing to support it, for it to continue (at least not here in the states) maybe Europe would be an option...
-
Gotcha. No harm no foul. I would say one thing tho - you need some new "sources" :)
-
I don't personally believe there is enough talent pool to draw from...
Gee, the top four at this show would easily beat you. (Unless BB.com sponsors another show ;))
-
Sounds like Bobby is lobbying for the PDI Athletes Rep job.
I've already nominated the man for that job!
www.PDIrep.com ;)
-
I am fair & honest....
One one hand....I agree with Lee.
(a) There was a show
(b) The PDI does exist
(c) etc...
On the other hand...Bob is right too.
The majority of these guys would get their asses handed to them at the Junior National Level let alone the Pro Ranks.
Although I applaud the idea of new opportunity...the PDI has a very tough climb to earn any respect especially after seeing the caliber of competitors that was involved (except Lee).
-
ok bob replied...
after all he has a little one on the way and getting married in a few weeks...im sure he and tasha are busy...
-

Why? There seems to be little argument about how many people were in attendance...If filling a house with freebies is Wayne's plan...so be it.

While I agree with you that the second and third tier at this show were a huge joke, the top 4 guys at least, and possibly the top 6 were all IFBB pro caliber.
-

Lee was the only one that impressed me.
But I do think the top 6 could of easily beaten Kamali a couple weeks ago.
;)

Jocelyn Pelletier could have beaten Kamali a couple weeks ago! ;D

You were quick to blame your "sources" when Ronnie called you out for saying that he was down in size.
You were quick to blame your "sources" when your info that there were 100 people in the place was debunked with much higher numbers form people in attendance.
Blindly relying upon your "sources" without any verification, then putting out bad informatino, reduces your credibility.
-
c'on Bob tell the truth...
You know you were shaking in your boots that someday "the Rhino" was gonna get his IFBB pro card and come after your title at the Masters Worlds... ;D
-

"There goes that Chickerillo again... repeating everything Vince G tells him as though it were fact!"

I don't think Bob has to worry...or even diet when it comes to competing with Jack
-
Gotta hand it to him..........CHICK is all balls!!!!!!! The man fears nothing!!

I've never had to "blame" my sources...the people posting here simply don't listen very well.
The numbers have never been "debunked"...they've been verified by numerous people.
Do you ever know what the hell you're talking about?
Doesn't seem so....I'd say it reduces your credibility...but then I remembered...you have none anyway.
-
Considering that probably more than 3/4 of the IFBB bbers are not doing very well financially from bbing alone, I would like to know why an "Athlete's rep" would think a new organization starting up is a bad thing. I haven't really paid much attention to pro bbing for a while because I feel it has become a true circus of the absurd. I don't know about the quality of the PDi athletes, but I will say it seems if you where an individual looking out for the best interest of the athletes themselves you would be supportive of any orgainzation who wants to put on more shows and award some more money. Bob to me you sound like a yes man for the IFBB, not an athlete's rep. Just an observation.

You DID blame your sources for both mistakes.
You DID say there were 100, and yes, a much higher number being verifie by many people there DOES debunk your numbers.
de-bunk
–verb (used with object) to expose or excoriate (a claim, assertion, sentiment, etc.) as being pretentious, false, or exaggerated: to debunk advertising slogans.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
[Origin: 1920–25, American; de- + bunk2]
-
remeber when a certain President said...."No new taxes".....
he wasn't debunked either

Is it better to give away tickets to fans or to rip them off with hgh prices and shitty shows and venues. It seems the IFBB has chosen the later. Good company you work for.

I don't think anyone is questioning if giving tickets away is good or bad. I think it is being used to underscore the lack of support for the PDI's first show and question it's viability.
The Beef

didnt shawn ray give away a hummer to atract people to his first show?
anything new you have to give shit away its marketing 101 jeeeez!

when the wwe had its down times against wcw it gave way half thier tickets also, its all part of the game !
-
I love it that Bob cant acknowledge that Lee Preist won 20,000 bucks in a bodybuilding contest in New York. Very Objective reporting huh ??

They got them all sitting together so it looks like a lot of people

The WWE gives away allot of tickets as does the NFL, MLBA and every other event. The funny thing is here is Wayne gave away some tickets to pack the house. Okay done. No cost to him and goal acheived. Now, Sean gave away a $30,000 Hummer, it did not improve ticket sales to the show and in fact gave it away at the expo which was free of charge. Cost $30,000. Now Chic my humble friend. Which scenario is a better business call.

Giving away a Hummer to attract more people isn't a bad move, and we don't know how many people would have showed had he NOT had it as a raffle...you dont know if it improved ticket sales or not.
Giving away SOME tickets to comps, etc, is common practice...giving away 1,000+ tikets when the theater holds 1500, is far from common....if I were one of the people that BOUGHT a ticket, id sure be pissed.
It shows what kind of interest level there is...not too good of a sign.
-
lol I know you guys like to break chics balls but cmon- The Pdi show was a fucking embarassment and if your sitting there claiming it isnt you either have some sort of interest (financial or otherwise) in the PDI which is making you completely delusional as to your importance in bodybuilding in general or you competed in the show...
-

Well said.
I am all for the PDI, breaking the IFBB's monopoly, giving bodybuilders's choices etc...but bottom line the physiques up there were no where near *real* pro caliber and the amatuer show was hardly a big fight for a pro card ::)

Sorry, Bob, but spider-man is 100% right. You're either taking this "company man" thing to extremes, you just like to argue, or you're the dumbest motherfuccker on the planet.

I didn't figure you to be too bright, clownboy....
Go back to doing what you do best...posting stupid shit and clown pictures.

And you got this number of 1000 from who. You have NO idea. Please don't tell us you know everything about everything in BB. Jeez you come up with some great shit. And the Hummer was one of the stupiest things to do ever. Maybe and just maybe if he gave it away at the show to a ticket holder. Someone that actually went to the show. Now that wouldn't have been to bad because it would have brought people into the show. But, no he gave it away at an expo that was free.
Hey I just found out from Chics source, the Olympia is giving away 3000 tickets. If I was one of the 55 people who bought a ticket I'd be pissed.
-

The Beef
I don't feel giving away the tickets questions anything. It's New York. there is endless amounts of shit to do there. Allot of free shit. But if Wayne gave away tickets and the people showed up then it was a great thing. They didn't have to show up. So obviously they must have been interested. I bet these same people who got in free this year enjoyed themselve enough to go next year and pay. The goal of any promoter is to fill the seats. Hell even the Emmys and Academy Awards have seat fillers. As a competitor I woudl want tosee as many people as possible out in the audience. It makes for a better show.

Bobby boy,
show some self respect and post about things you know.
You have proof for you statement about over 1,000 tickets for free, I guess.
If bad mouthing will enter Olympics you'd be running for a medal but guess what? Your bosses, let's mention just a couple: AMI (there are rumour you are on their payroll) and JM, will never thank you for wasting your reputation.
-
Bob - You stated that the PDI gave away 1000 tickets.
Where did you get this info?

Hey Weinberger when did you learn to type. Nice for you to buzz in.
-
lol steve weinburger- Im a 23 yr student from new york city with no bodybuilding affiliation whatsoever- Have ron check my ip if you dont believe me. I rarely ever post but I freequent the boards 3 or 4 times a week. Dude Im just speaking objectively- I dont have a horse in this race and I truly dont care about the pdi. Just stating the obvious based on the pictures.

1,000 freebies is an estimated guess. 500 to Dr. jack and another 250 to the Hari Krishna's that came to see Sri Chimnoy...thats 750 right there...I'll assume tyhere is another 250 in comps...sounds about right.

Who says that all the free tickets were accepted. If 500 were offered, Id say at most 100-150 were accepted by show time, leaing the rest to be sold.
-
I just wonder why we've got IFBB guys on here pointing out every negative aspect of the show. Obviously there are problems with the way the IFBB does certain things-Sami not even getting a chance to get a pro card. Why not just say hey, it's just another choice for guys and be done with it. If it fails, it fails. Lee will pay a big fine and be back...he'll probably be screwed like Aaron Baker was but hey at least he'll be back.
It's just wierd to me that there is all this negative talk from the IFBB guys. If you read thier stuff it's like nothing positive was accomplished at the NOC.
The sport has not progressed in years, it was bigger back in teh 90's so what's the problem with something that might increase the fan base? What's wrong with an alternative? I would think the industry as a whole would be pretty bummed if an event that had the legacy of the NOC couldn't sell out, not pointing out how it didn't. Doesn't that say something for the sport?

Again, Bobby boy. Please, post about what you know. Your sources are not that good
Those you mention as hare krishna are not hare krishna. Bill Pearl brought them in.
I guess you know who Bill Pearl is. I have proof they have paid their tickets a week in advance. Do you have proof they didn't?
That means you can't count them as freebies.
I wonder if you know how many freebies in 2005 Olympia was given to airforce and army bases around LV through Rob Wilkins?
I'm more than sure that the less you post the better is for your reputation.
You are offering a poor show of yourself and it sounds like you know less you pretend.

Oh my I love your guestamations. You are funny. You sure can tell you have been brainwashed by the IFBB. No wonder you are their rep and spokesperson. If this was back in the 1800's and you were black, you would be easy to explain.
-
Bobby,
did I miss some of your replies?
I don't see any answers to some questions I asked you.
Are you on AMI payroll?
How many freebies Rob Wilkins gave to airforce and army at 2005 Olympia?
Don't be shy.

Obviously there are problems with the way the IFBB does certain things-Sami not even getting a chance to get a pro card.
I am not familiar with his situation, but I find it hard to believe Sami did not have a chance to get an IFBB pro card.
He is a national of Bahrain, so he would be eligible to gain pro status at either the Asian games [I think], or the Worlds [definitely]

What kind of cult is Bill Pearl part of?
Not sure, but Bob obviously drank the IFBB Kool-Aid!
