I want to make this clear: Lou is poor. If he is making his living $20 at a time he is obviously poor.
-
God damn, what keeps this guy coming back and making a bigger ass of himself year after year? How greedy and stupid is he.. is this how he wants to be remembered? ???

Leave the tight shirts for the big guys.
-
Seriously, did he have any lines or customers for his $20 mugshots? And wasn't the Incredible Hulk on TV in the late 1970's? Who buys that nonsense.
-
I can honestly clear up that each time Id walk by... there was nobody at his booth.

;D ;D Sadness.
-
Well - when I walked by, there were a number of people at his booth. Unlike some diehard bodybuilders, there are various mainstream fans who want Lou Ferrigno's autographs and pictures. That is his choice to charge what he wants for them. What I don't agree with is his refusal to take a picture with someone who doesnt want to buy a picture.

hes probally a bit short on cash. i doubt he gets much, if any money from the hulk reruns!
-
what does it cost to rent an olympia expo booth?
-
That sign is there out of arrogance i think...he knows everyone talks about him so he just keeps doing it. god what a fag. I'd tell him na, I don't pay 20 dollars for pics of washed up celebrities.
-
Lou should start marketing toilet paper.
then I'd buy it 8)

Yup, big Lou started all that. He looks at it like this: he's in the biz of selling pictures. If fans come up and take their own pic of him for free, they don't buy the pics he's selling. Back in the era he is from, pros made money selling pictures at all the shows and expos and many of them adopted Lou's tenet of business. Now most of the autographs are free to fans as a condition of an athlete's endorsement contract. Lou is still selling pics because he is still under contract with , not AMI, but with Joe Weider. He probably sold 150 photos over the weekend. That's an extra 3 grand in cash for Louie to take home. But, he still pays to produce the copies, so it is not all profit. Whatever it is, it is still worth it to Louie, and enough of his fans support him to keep him coming back. If Louie makes it to 80 and bodybuilding is also still around, he will still show up at the Olympia and the ASC to sell his pics.

We all need cash and at least Big Lou Inc hasn't stooped to the level of McLoud!
Then again, perhaps we'll see Big Lou offering 20 bucks for a strip??? LOL
-
No matter what, it doesn't sound like Lou makes too much money these days.
I don't know, Matt. He's still living in his house in Santa Monica - north of Wilshire. He's remodeled it a couple of times. It's probably worth 3 - 4 Mill. And he has a ranch in northern Callie. And he has some other real estate. He works a lot of weekends doing celebrity appearances and selling his signature. He does the comic conventions too. He's on TV fairly regularly and gets bit parts in movies. He is huge over seas. And he has a few endorsement contracts. Louie is always working. I wouldn't say he's poor.

ok, sounds like he's well off then,,, unless he donates the money from the pics to charity, hes a jerk!

You should stop posting on his behalf, Romano.
Every time you do, you make HIM look like a BIGGER assclown and greedy fuck!

in other words, he's a complete greedy asshole

"... He's still living in his house in Santa Monica - north of Wilshire..."
Perhaps north of Wilshire, but south of San Vincente. And everybody knows that the High Rollers all kick-it north of San Vincente. ;)
4th St. stairs tomorrow morning Romano... be there!
-
He's not poor. Bob Chic said he was clearing decent money at the olympia a few years back.. maybe 10 grand or something?
Very vague memory about this.

Fine...

As a person who is part of the comic book industry, I can say that Louie rarely has anyone at his table at comic book conventions. He is often seated near "Wrestling Superstar" Virgil alongside other washed-up actors/actresses. At least when I walk by Lou's table, he has maybe 2 people within 30 feet of him. Virgil, however...sad.... :-\
:D

hmm...ok, so I was wrong about the comic-book conventions...
no biggie.... oh and he does charge at comic conventions, the same amount as any of his othe appearances :) Marvel doesn't give a shit about Lou and wouldn't pay for him to appear anyplace.

I worked with Marvel a couple times (i was on issue #204 Conan magazine) and a marvel artist Alan Ribeniwitz told me differently, so that comes as a surprise.

Gotta give him credit.
He looks damn good for a man in his mid-fifties

Interesting angle. I've done work for the big 2 and have seen this clown at conventions for years and years, so what i've seen/heard/experienced is different from yours. Interesting, nonetheless.... !

Exactly.... thank you.
Years ago, at a comic book convention, Lou "The Incredible Jerk" Ferrigno had a booth set-up and this girl stood next to Lou without his knowledge while her friend was about to take a picture and right before the moment of "click" he told them 'no' without buying a picture and seemed to have been irratated that someone would try get a pic of him.... for free. ::)
Needless to say, the girls walked away in disbelief as I shook my head walking away as well.
-
Big Lou is trying to eat. Clearly he doesn't have many income generating avenues so he pimps the last bit of name recognition that he has. Can't fault him for that
-
had he not signed away the rights to the Hulk he would have been numerous millions better off right now. Not the most intelligent man youll ever come across

S.M., do you know the artist, Alan Ribinewitz? This was in the early 90's or so, when #204 Conan came out so maybe things changed.
-
Is he still training Michael Jackson? I hear he is training people still.
-
No one has any more pics???
Wooshhhhhhhhhhh
-
Lou is nothing but a money hungry greedy bastard, he is worth over ten million and is suing his own brother for using his own last name. The IRS should look into how much cash Lou buries each year to avoid paying taxes. I would not pay 2 cents for one of that losers autograph, i wish him only the worst.
-
I heard that the judge ordered the lawsuit into mediation. It's on this thursday at his lawyer's office in N.J. If he has that much money why don't he leave his brother alone. I can't believe anyone would stick up for him ??? ??? Lou why don't you get a real job ::)

Hes also a reserve sheriff office for lasd

Lou was to cheap to even go to his dads funeral thats why he has so much money . He told his mom taht everyone would have to pay twenty dollars if he went ..
-
Lou usually sits at the Weider/AMI booth space, so he doesn't have to rent the space. For some reason, Weider still pays him 100K/year as a sponsored athlete. I guess it's his popularity overseas, or as I like to tell people "You've never heard of me here in the States, but I'm huge in Japan"
Special "Alphaville" Ed
-
did he chase you for the 20 big ones for taking that picture??
-
Gotta give him credit.

Looks like a greaseball momo from the bronx to me...
I had a bad expierence with Lou at a comic book shop downtown Chicago a few yrs back...with my punk ass disposable camera from fkn Walgreens...he refused to take a picture with me unless I gave him $20. I was the ONLY person at the shop at that time of day(7pm) or so...even the manager of the store tried joking with him about it and told him how I'm a friend of his and the shop and Lou just shook his head 'no' and sat down. Fk that greasy spaghetti slurper! This happened in 2002 I think...right before that Hulk movie came out.
I don't care what 'era' he is from and what the 'old timers' did back then...with the moneyhe makes his pics shouldnt be more than $10 if not FREE.
Why do you defend him, John? Bottom line is this player...if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck then guess what? Lou conducts himself like a fkn prick...treats people like a fkn prick...gives off the impression of being a fkn prick...is known to be a fkn prick so guess what, John?

I saw Lou this year at the San Diego Comic Convention. Traveled there
all the way from South Africa. I didn't know he was going to be there and
when I saw him I payed $20 for a autographed poster and got a BW photo
free.....I also took some pics with him. He was cool and friendly....
It's not like I see him or any other pro's on a regular basis since I don't
stay in the US, so I payed the cash. If you have issues with how he makes
money...don't buy anything.
