Guys I have a situation. There is a friend of my mom's who is on the east coast who lives 45 minutes away from me, I've known her for years since I was growing up and she is very well off, lives alone, no man whatsoever...great person but She is FUGLY, but highly successful and loaded with cash. Get the GED. You will feel better about yourself. Take subjects that interest you in college and you will find that you may actually like studying.
In Oregon, we call junior college, community college. It sounds better. Many people get their associates degrees at a community college because it is less expensive than going to university. Also, community colleges often have more flexible schedules which can be a good thing if you are working and going to school.

Then consider a trade. I'm not in a union but I think they're common in the US. You could talk to a local branch about trade specific earning potential, training time, etc.
A licensed trade would probably be the way to go. I doubt a licensed union plumber, electrician, refrigeration tech, etc makes less than $80/ hr. Probably stay away from non-licensed trades like tiling, drywall, carpet/vinyl/flooring, etc. Carpentry is a maybe, and would give you the easiest transition into business ownership as a builder/GC later on.
There are also non-construction trades here, such as butcher, baker, hairdresser, etc.

You are young. Lots of folks get these kinds of jobs when they are young. I wouldn't say they are bottom of the barrel though. A job's a job....a way to make some money. What you want is a career which is also a way to make money sometimes but also a way to be doing something you actually enjoy.
What kind of carpenter would you like to be? There are carpenters who do heavy work, like framing and there are carpenters who do fine work like cabinet making. Construction trades are often seasonal, which can be something of a disadvantage. On the plus side, one can become a contractor and work for themselves which is sometimes better than working for someone else.
My step dad was a painting contractor. He made really good money. He also worked really hard, often 6 days a week with long hours. When I as a kid in my teens and twenties, like I suspect you are, I worked with my dad. We had a lot of good times working together. However, painting wasn't what I aspired to do for the rest of my life. Still, knowing the trade came in handy when I was otherwise between jobs. I could always land a gig house painting. The money wasn't bad either. The work was seasonal though.

It has been years since our cat died. We might have gotten another, but I am allergic to cats so that just doesn't make sense. We do have two dogs, to which I am also allergic. However, my allergy to dogs is less severe than it is to cats. I probably sneeze myself into having a heart attack if I lived in a house with four cats.

Same here man. I don't mind cats but I'm so allergic to them. After 5 minutes I'm itchy all over the back of my throat starts to itch It makes me feel completely miserable. This lady sounds a bit to crazy and dirty. The inside of her house probably looks like shit. Huge turn off.

I dropped out of HS at 17, I don't even have a GED. I'm going to get it soon and am debating enrolling in junior college I just don't want to study.

Well, she had over 200 cats, dead and alive...in the house. The dead ones were sticking to the floor. They had to euthanize over 60 of the cats...it was that bad...

Dead cats, feces, old cans of catfood all stuck to the floors She was a "nice" old lady...but she was odd, a bit off. She used to be a doctor had money and drove an old Maserati...that is what the OP will looking fwd to.
It was said that they had to scrape the cats off the floor because they were stuck to it :-X
And the house made people sick when they walked by, the stench was unbearable..It was a big ass house as well.

Having a serious allergy to pets sucks. Sometimes my eyes hurt, but fortunately my cat isn't inside all the time, that helps. In most cases it's caused by the hair of cats, has nothing to do with bad hygiene, like some people think.

anyways update on the situation- I went by her house to talk with her and say hi and she wasn't there .... I swear there must of been 9 cats in that fucken house looking through the window, spider webs everywhere shit was like out of a horror movie.

ended up hanging out with her this weekend, my god....the looks. Walked by a group of college girls around my age and they all looked at eachother and pointed. I look really good right now (for me)biggest and leanest I have been ...tanned...face isn't too bloated so I guess that's why I feel akward with her more than I usually would.
....I got a nice expensive dinner and she slipped me a $20 on my way home. Gonna buy myself a carton of whey tomorrow I think GNC got a sale on some shit. its a start Didn't have to do anything physically with her yet.... haha I was prescribed aderall as a kid WAY back by my parents cause I wouldnt pay attention in class.....I ended up flushing the tablets and replace it with the other tabs that said Methandrostenolone on it ;D
