When I first saw this post I was wishing it was from a female...guess not.
Your talking about muscle control (I hope). People overuse the term 'feeling the muscle' and 'mind/body connection' on this site, not really understanding the term. But muscle control is just that. Try putting both hands on your desk, in a quite place, and flex each pec lightly. Try to contract and relax, just repeat that over and over again. Nothing hard or trying to bounce the pec's. That can come later. You don't need a lot of muscle size to do this well, it's just mind control. But good muscle size makes it's so much more impressive.Just alternate between both of them. Can learn to roll the pec's up and down. Very easy after awhile.
A skilled muscle control person can move just about any muscle in the body. Doing a vacuum, where the ab's look like two separated knotted ropes moving up and down or to control the whole back area, where it appears that a live snake, somehow, got under the skin, is way too cool. I've been told that muscle control can also be a good workout plan. It does bring more blood into a muscle area, as well as training the motor units to respond at their highest level. I saw a demo once of a muscle control act, as part of a BB'ing show. Very impressive.
There are probably books out there on muscle control, I would think. Lot of the old time strongmen did muscle control with their training. It can also be a form of a inner muscle massage, which would bring more healing blood into any muscle group. Some martial artist train along that line. Yoga includes forms of mind/muscle control as the core of their movements. Good Luck.
