The thing is even TheBlockHead has pointed out so many time is that Oprah, Barack Obama, Con Rice, Colin Powell, Tiger Woods are all considered 'jokes' and 'sell outs' and 'Uncle Toms' in the mainstream black community while Lil Kim and Trina and Flava Flave and Al Pacino's character in the movie 'Scarface' and 50 are considered HEROS!
It is their own beliefe system that keep them down...not 'The Man' or 'Whitey' it's them and HIP HOP culture and the 'HIP HOP lifestyle' that force them to believe that it is COOLER to wear overblown giant white t-shirts and bling and deal drugs and get spinners and ho's and a pitbull.

You have it backwards. Truth is most of my people don't really get down with Trina, Lil Kim, or 50 cent. Its basically the media glorifying the truth. There are many more R & B, Soul, Jazz, and Gospel singers than Hip Hop singers.
The media only looks at the extremes of one's genre, not the reality of it. I only own a few Hip Hop CDs and its mainly Will Smith, LL Cool J, and Special Ed. The rest is R & B for my "very special guests".
