The idea of PB as a good fat and a lean muscle builder is lost if you eat it on bread or with jelly or "Fluff"  ::).  Too much sugar there, unless you consider getting fat "Bulking".

Everything in moderation.  Eat too much of a good thing and you'll get fat.  Remember,

1g protein = 4 calories
1g carbs = 4 calories
1g fat (good or bad) = 9 calories

2 Tbsp Natural Peanut butter = 200 calories

Too many calories will still make you fat.

One or two slice(s) of bread with peanut-butter can be considered as a whole meal. If you keep that in mind the high nutritional level shouldn't be a problem.

I saw a thing of discovery channel the other day on " How its made " the product was peanut butter.  Its filled with trans fats.  Unless you get natural peanut butter or almond butter, But then its so expensive you are better off buying some tuna. If you just want to put on some mass, peanut butter is great, but keep in mind I said mass and not muscle.

Almond butter is more expensive than PB, but natural PB is no more expensive than the processed stuff.

Here is an awsome treat! Take some raw, unblanched almonds and add to natural chunky PB, refrigerated and stired of course.  Just eat a couple spoons of PB then pour some almonds in.  Tons of calories and good fats   ;D

wal mart has this peanut butter and the brand is like natural butter or something...anyways its got 10 grams of protein, 160 calories, omega 3 and 6 fats, 4 grams of fiber, for 2 tablespoons its only like $2.50 a jar, pretty crunchy and way better than other "natural" peanut butter that is oily and has no taste.

How much is a portion?

About 2 table spoons is average, which is about 200cals or so.  I guess a portion size really depends on the person and the caloric intake they require to achive thier goals.

yes PBJ is awesome for bulking.  Its relatively cheap( unless you buy the natural organic stuff ).  Plenty of good fats and protein. I used to eat 4 sandwiches per meal three meals a day.

You can find some good ones for less than $3.00 a jar. Not organic but just ground up peanuts, no sugar and salt or hydrogenation added.  Your basic jiffy super chunk, which by the way is awsome!! has way too much added sugar and salt added.

I have also come to the conclusion that peanut butter is also really the DEVIL, just in another form. WAY too easy to eat too much of that stuff, which I have been doing lately, stuff will make you fat fast!
