Yes, but in PRIDE they also stood fighters up more frequently, if stalling happened.
In the UFC, because of Gracie, they let them grapple to the point that it becomes boring.

PRIDE was the best ...

cause the fans knew the fighters knew best. I loved the Japanese audience. + PRIDE had great rules and yellow cards.

PRIDE had showmanship, different styles, international fighters, quiet and respectful crowds, head stomps, no elbows to open a cut and end the fight early BS, Japanese ring girls, Bas Rutten call outs, Fedor, Tournaments, Fedor, Grand Prixs..... :-[

I bought all of the Openweight GP DVDs and saw them recently.

The Barnett/Big Nog fight was the best grappling fight I've ever seen.
