Don't know if this has been posted or not already.

I read in a mag recently that Shaq really wants to test his fighting ability in the ring.
He said, "it's natural, all men want to fight". Apparently he wants to fight another big man--
specifically naming Korean giant Hong Man Choi as the perfect opponent.

He also claims Freddy Roach said he could undoubtedly beat the Klithschkos if he trained for it.

If he throws punches like he throws free throws, he's in real trouble.

He claims he's for real. He says he wants to do it at least once before he gets too old.
With Mariusz and the rest jumping on the MMA bandwagon, it doesn't seem that unbelievable.
I'll look for a link.

Yeah, he must have little respect for the brothers if he thinks he can just jump in there with no experience and beat them!
Unbelievable! And now he wants to fight Lesnar apparently. Is he all mouth?

Quote
Shaquille O’Neal wants to fight Brock Lesnar

Cleveland Cavaliers' center tells Dana White he wants to fight UFC heavyweight champion

Mark Fujii

What hasn’t Shaquille O’Neal, accomplished NBA veteran, done in his career? He appeared in the atrocious 1997 film Steel,
busted moves with the famous dance crew JabbaWockeeZ, produced a few rap albums, and even graced the cover of the infamous video game Shaq Fu.

Sports Radio Interview recently transcribed an interview with UFC President Dana White on “Into The Night with Tony Bruno”
which suggests that the 4-time NBA Champion might be adding UFC heavyweight champion to his extensive list of accolades.

That is, of course, assuming Shaq can actually defeat the UFC heavyweight division’s current belt holder, Brock Lesnar.

“Shaq texts and twitters me all the time saying he wants to fight Brock Lesnar,” says White. “He’s been training for ten years;
Shaq’s probably the only dude in the NBA that can actually fight.”

White goes on to mention that he and O’Neal are close friends.

Brock Lesnar stands at 6’3 and weighs in at 265 pounds. He has a professional MMA record of 4-1. Shaq is 7’1 and weighs 325 pounds.
While O’Neal currently does not have any professional MMA fights under his belt,
he has been known for instigating a number of fights on the basketball court.

One such instance includes O’Neal attempting unsuccessfully to punch Chicago Bulls’s Brad Miller in the back of the head after a hard foul.

This is not the first time Shaquille O’Neal has expressed his interest in stepping off the NBA court and into the Octagon.

Last month, in a video interview with Shaq posted on The6Levels, O’Neal said he desired to fight UFC superstar Chuck Liddel,
but only after he’s fought K-1 fighter Hong Man Choi.

In the very unlikely event that the UFC actually sanctions an event between Shaq and Lesnar,
it would not be the first time a celebrity athlete has stepped into the ring against a MMA fighter.

In May, former Oakland Athletics’ slugger Jose Canseco tried to take on Hong Man Choi, but was forced to tap out in the first 76 seconds of the match.

Canseco, however, admittedly had no MMA training prior to the fight.
However, Shaquille O’Neal, according to Yahoo Sports, has been training in boxing, wrestling,
Jiu-Jitsu and Muay Thai for ten years with Jonathan Burke of Gracie’s Gym.

A number athletes of other sports have been able to successfully make the transition into professional mixed martial arts.

Michael Westbrook played in the NFL as a wide receiver for eight seasons before trading in his helmet and jersey
for a black belt in Taekwondo and a brown belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
He currently has a professional MMA record of 1-1 and typically fights for the King of the Cage.

Additionally, Marcus Jones, Matt Mitrione, Brendan Schaub and Wes Shivers,
all former NFL players, will be featured in season 10 of “The Ultimate Fighter” when it begins broadcasting September 16th on Spike TV.

Included below is a Youtube compilation of Shaq’s fighting prowess on the basketball court.

He's an aging NBA center with diminishing skills.  He would get killed in MMA or boxing
