As suggested, the hands should be though of as hooks (without a too tight thumb grip) and using strap can give less worry on the grip it's self, when doing extra heavy stuff. But also put attention on the movement/pull of the elbows when doing any lat pull exercise. In other words, learn to pull with the elbows. That joint/leverage point can be very important when working the back (chins, rows, pull downs, up-right rows, etc).
The biceps are pretty well worked when doing lat/back exercises. Some men do not include any direct arm exercises. I do not included. For myself, any curling exercise is boring. If that works for you, than great. But for most trainee's a actual curling movement (of 2 to 3 sets), after a back workout where the biceps are already primed for work, can be rewarding. A suggestion would be the basic BB curl, with a slight cheating style. A true cheating style is not doing 5 or 6 good reps and than cheating on the last 3 or 4 reps. It is when every rep, for the exercise, is preformed with that slight cheat. Doing 8 reps? That 8 reps of cheating. People also get partial reps confused with cheating reps. Or even "Burns" as partial reps. Are you cheating yourself by not doing by the book exercises? No, only cheating yourself of what might be more gains in muscle mass and strength. Good luck.
