I should make it clear that I take a fanny pack to the gym because of a locker room theft and that I do not in fact wear it in public.  I did wear it once when I was bicycling on Mackinaw Island.  And to set the record straight the thief was white. He took forty bucks from a buddy of mine.

They broke the metal piece that holds the lock right off the side of the locker and left the locks on the floor.  It was someone using a guest pass and it was late at night, around 9-9:30.

I keep my camera and a few spare batteries in there since I'm an avid photographer. I remove it before lifting though...

useful instead of digging for stuff in pockets, i use it to keep my Keys, wallet, Cell-phone and wtv little small items i need,(also like splenda packets when dieting) sometimes pills...who knows... but i never wear it around the waist. just carry it in one hand with the belt strap thing folded in my palm. very practical, and alot less embarassing when its not around your waist.

beats forgetting stuff in your pants and getting it washed by accident.

Because they work, there are no practical alternatives and sometimes don't look bad? Wear it behind you it's not such a big deal, anywhere else it's almost as gay as sandals.

I used to wear fanny packs.  I liked them.  They held my wallet and change and phone, pen and other shit.  No way would all the crap fit in my pocket.  I think they are a good idea.  Now some of them though are pretty ridiculous.  I saw one the other day on a japanese guy that was the size of a small suitcase.  I mean it was huge.  Now that is stupid looking.  I don't wear one now though.  I am worse.  I have everything in my bank bag and carry that around everywhere.  But, like the fanny pack no way could I fit all that stuff in my pockets.

I just bought one for my time in Latvia, Its very hot here and I wear only shorts so a Fanny pack comes handy for Cell Nintendo DS ;D Keys Wallet and my Ipod.
Serioulsy were else would you put all that stuff...

You guys are too concerned what you look like who gives a shit anyways, we are supposted to be Bodybuilders not models.
