Can you guys tell me what head of the triceps (long head, lateral Head, or medial head) each type of pushdown mostly hits:

1. Straight bar pushdowns
2. Rope pushdowns
3. Underhand pushdowns

Thanks fellas.

1. Straight bar pushdowns    ( more lateral, but could work long head if lean body forward)
2. Rope pushdowns              (lateral, again ditto)
3. Underhand pushdowns      (long head)

All different grips puts more stress on different head, note I mentione " more stresss", does not mean other heads don't come into play.

Normal grip ( lateral)
Neutral grip ( Medial)
Reverse grip ( long)

Also, body movement plays a role. eg. leaning forwards.

Hope this helps.

The important question to ask the experts is:

How, when the triceps heads all share a common insertion point where they cross the elbow, would a handle on a pressdown matter?

I asked this previously, and no one was able to answer.
