training speed?
« on: August 23, 2007, 10:45:16 AM »
i like to train slow.  however shawn liked to train very fast.  Do you all see any benefit in fast reps?  Shawn is one of the greatest BBs in the world.  DO you think there is anything to this?  he was never really injured either.

you are gay.

i dont think shawn on purpose try to move it as fast as possible but he got a good 'groove'
milos recommends both slow, and even very slow movements as well as explosive reps (he's doing both in his videos)
depends a little on the exercise, if youre trying to press something heavy it makes sense to try to press as explosive as possible as otherwise you might not be able to complete the rep. it might not look very fast because the weight is so heavy

Rule #1 on the training board:

Unless you have serious aspirations of being a PROFESSIONAL BODYBUILDER, don't follow their training, nutrition or drug advice to stricktly.

That being said, I think the tempo of the rep is important but not as important as the about of total sets, reps, rest time, and training intervals that you apply.

Research super-slow and time under tension...it's been discussed on the board before.
