Dear readers,

I was wondering if anybody could give me some advise wether or not to try the P90X. I am a pretty skinny guy, and as far as I have seen the P90X workout is just for fat people who actually already have the muscle underneath their fat!!! is this true? Will P90X make me bigger? or just more toned? or should I try something else than a muscle confusement program...PS I have been working out for about one year now, and I know how to workout in a gym....and the rules about eating like a horse. But yeah, I have not seen great results yet...and the P90X thing makes it look like magic will happen after 90 days ha ha?!?!?

I read the ad.
My take:
90 days is enough time to see results.
Dramatic results?
Possibly.
Fat loss is usually the most radical and noticeable change over a short period.

The program’s workouts seem to consist of a lot of cardio-type routines.
I see nothing really that will build “mass” despite their claims that you can “if that’s your goal.”
I also notice they provide you a nutrition plan. That alone can be enough to see significant changes in body composition.

Bottom line:
If you're trying to bulk up, then I don’t believe that this is what you’re looking for.

Good program. It will build muscle because of their emphasis on basic, easy to do exercises like chins, pushups, curls, etc. This is obviously not the only program that will do this, and if you're already slim you could just go with a weight lifting program but this program will also work.

Also, you could adjust their recommended diet so that you wouldn't be on a weight-loss diet.

this program is perfect for skinny guys like Geo who are very weak to begin with and don't have too much bulky muscle to get in the way.

thanks, sounds good...very contradicting answers though...hmmm...i think i will give it a try and see what happens. I guess it is actually just the same old answer that goes here "it will work if you eat eat eat".
il give it a try and hit the pasta salads, peanut butter, N-Large 2 and creatine while doing it.

please give more responses, the more the better

Buddy of mine did it to get ready for Air Assault school. Said it was really hard and it leaned him out a lot.

it sounded to me like it's a really active program so I wouldn't expect to gain much weight, but you will probably be able to do chins and crunches all day afterwards.

If you do the program but change a few things to create more size it'll work better for size. Change the suggested diet towards something better for weight gain as you've mentioned, and eventually add resistance to some of the exercises like chins and pushups.

I don't mean to contradict you, but how much do you know about the program? It isn't even designed to create size, the program is designed to rip, not bulk.

Someone MIGHT be able to eat enough to keep from dropping weight but just look at the success stories or the models on the site. Not a single bb or pl on there. The name of the company is 'beach body' after all

A lot of the exercises used on there will build muscle, and can be further skewed to increasing size even more by adding more resistance-chins, pushups, dips, etc.-common BB exercises. On top of that, a diet that will help with "good" weight gain instead of one that mainly focuses on getting lean and you have a muscle-building routine instead of something that combins weight loss with muscle gain.
