Thanks for the tips so far guys. Yeah, I like squats too but I feel more confident when I have a spotter. In my younger days I would always have a training partner 'cause life was simpler back then, I had a consistent weekly schedule and less daily and weekly responsibilities that would take priority over my workouts. These days, I basically workout when I have the time and can't really schedule anything which is why I train alone. With a wife, two little kids, work, and other responsibilities, sometimes I have to workout at midnight, sometimes early in the morning, etc., so it's impossible to have a steady training partner. I've done squats by myself in the safety of a power rack a few times, but I hate bringing unnecessary attention to myself in the gym. Because I always train to failure (I can't bring myself to just stop short of failure; psychologically, I feel like I just wasted the set and my time), I would squat until complete muscle failure, wouldn't be able to get the bar back to the uprights, so the bar would just loudly fall onto the two safety bars and I would get a few looks my way because of the noise. In addition, I would then have to take some time to rest, then get under the bar again to raise it back up to the uprights in preparation for the next set.
Anyway, I'll try some of those that you guys suggested. Thanks.
Biceps: What are Dip Squats? Never heard of those before.
