Nausia or stomach pain after workout?
« on: January 19, 2008, 04:16:20 PM »
Hey Guy,

I have been some-what silent just training and reading threads, however.

After a strong leg workout (I have to get more familiar with the workout names, but)

Squats 4 sets / 6-8 reps
Calf raises 4 sets / 10-12 reps

(I feel horrible for not knowing the names :X )

Two machines, one that you sit on and works quads by going from sitting to legs straight out)
And the machine is similar for my hamstring/back of my leg.

Anyways, after a hard workout like this, I always seem to get super nauseated and sick feeling.

I am just out of shape? It takes about 4-5 days for my legs to "recover".

Just making sure all this is normal :]

A big thanks to everyone!

The exercises you're describing are leg extensions and seated leg curls. If you push yourself too hard or aren't used to the volume that could make you sick. Also if i eat too close to a workout i get an upset stomach. How long have you been lifting?

I have been in the gym for a few years because of high school football (senior now) but I did not play this year, and this is about my 5th week of 3-4 day a week pretty intense workouts.

It even gets to the point of sometimes vomiting (which I am used to on the football field on the first week or so, but not this long)

I will try to monitor how soon I eat before my workouts.

Do you think it could be I am just out of shape and hitting it to hard?

I would like to think that I could just get tired, but I want to push myself more but cant because the feeling of nausia.

The last thing I want to do is overtrain. I am sore for about 4-5 days after leg workouts, which I read is OK if you hit it hard.

Thanks for all the information mass, I appreciate it.

I'm just guessing and other people can elaborate but I think you're intensity is too high and you're pushing too hard. The last thing you want to do is throw up. Try resting a little longer in between sets.

I feel like vomiting at the mere thought of training legs.

I also get squeezy after a legwork out where I have eating to close to the work out.
But some times certain pre work out boosters and a hard work out does the same thing to my stomach.

Thanks guys.

I guess I just hit it too hard, or was doing the exercises to quickly. I almost always came to throwing up
and my legs were soar for about a week straight.

I will try to work my way up to it, instead of trying to outlift the big guys the first day :]

Thank you guys so much for the information!

It has helped so much. I am about to jump into HST instead of my own workout routine. Wish me luck :] (grabbing some supplements today, not sure what yet, that is what the other forum is for, but if you have info of what works for you, pitch in!)

Thanks again!
