Does the fact that some people are starving in Africa really bother you columbusdude?

It doesn't bother you?

I wouldn't say I'm happy about it.

My question to columbusdude is not sarcastic.  I'm asking him how important it is to him that there are people starving in Africa.

I'm not asking if it "really" bothers him as in if he is bothered by it at all.

I'm asking him if it really bothers him as in...bothers him a lot.

Stella, the suffering of the innocent is one of the big factors leading to my loss of faith.

Stella, the suffering of the innocent is one of the big factors leading to my loss of faith.

And perfectly explained by observing the fact that we live in a pitiless and indifferent universe, neither good nor evil, save for terms such as we choose to give to things and actions.
I hate the State.

Today's reading is from Psalm 15:

Quote
Psalm 15
A psalm of David.
1 LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary?
Who may live on your holy hill?

2 He whose walk is blameless
and who does what is righteous,
who speaks the truth from his heart

3 and has no slander on his tongue,
who does his neighbor no wrong
and casts no slur on his fellowman,

4 who despises a vile man
but honors those who fear the LORD,
       who keeps his oath
       even when it hurts,

5 who lends his money without usury
and does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
       He who does these things
       will never be shaken.

I don't know about 5, it kind of goes against our financial system, and I definitely don't "fear the LORD," but the rest of it makes a pretty good set of rules I'd say!

Isaiah 40:

Quote
4Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:

5And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

6The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:

7The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.

8The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

9O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

10Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

I'll bet they never sing it in churches any more.

Probably more of that "I can only imagine" crap I see them hawking on infomercials.

We only sing hymns at my church.
