Changing it up

I was wondering if anyone could either post a ex of a giant sets workout or post a link to previous discussion that has one. Gotta do something different, for a while to change it up after two years.

change it up by picking different main exercises, aim for a different rep range, or try a 5x5 or something like that. giant sets are great for feeling a pump and not much else.

I tried a giant set for chest and the soreness the next day was unreal. I'm not sure if i will continue doing them, as everyone in here seems to suggest that progressive strength gains produce size gains.

Try doing
Flat Bench
Flyes
Incline Bench
Pullovers
Put them together.....no break in between excersises. U will have to drop the weight SIGNIFICANTLY

Try that Giant set 3 or 4 times. give urself a decent break between giant sets. 5 mins plus usually.

I GARUNTEE U THE DOMS WILL BE UNREAL!

that's the problem with giant sets. you use little resistance. would you use a weight so light on bench that you can get 40 reps? no? then why would you do 4 sets of 10 in direct sequence?

additionally, how do you decide when to use more weight? when you can do all your exercises without missing a rep? well then, which exercise gets the boost in weight? and how much? what happens if you add weight to the first exercise and you lose reps after that, do you lower it again?

just go with straight sets. progress is easier to both gauge and make.

Here`s something that I do at times:

Super-Set:
{Bench Press
{Flyes

Tri-Set:
{Bench Press
{Flyes
{Dumbell Inclines

Giant-Set # 1:
{Bench Press
{Flyes
{Dumbell Inclines
{Crossovers

Giant-Set # 2:
{Bench Press
{Flyes
{Dumbell Inclines
{Crossovers
{Dips

Giant-Set # 3:
{Bench Press
{Flyes
{Dumbell Inclines
{Crossovers
{Dips
{Pec-Deck

Each set gets increasingly more volume.........I add weight to each exercises as I go,and decrease it to original weight on the last set.

No rest between exercises and about 2-3 minutes rest between Giant-Sets.

It works well if you rest while your training partner does his thing.

You DEFINATELY can grow and will improve by doing them................mass ive weight is not the only way to gain muscle ................intensit y of effort is key.

Getting the most work done in the shortest possible amount of time =INTENSITY OF EFFORT!!

This is quite the discussion that surrounds giant sets, and everyone will tell you a different story. So Io guess the only way to find out is to give it a try.
