Tool is....just f-cking excellent.  One of the best rock bands in recent times.  Very talented musicians and quite creative.  If you don't like them, its likely because of style or genre.
I enjoy fusion jazz as a long time drummer/musician and love tool's odd time signatures. 
They are a very rhythmic band.
