Isn't NYC like a different state with in a state to New York State?  I mean if it wasn't for NYC all your census info would be completely different.

Much better than some shit hole with a population of 15k.

I answered your second point in the other thread. I don't get pregnant (abortions a non-issue for me), but it affects a lot of people, men and women alike. Last year I made a bit less than 250k but, that is not far off in a few years.  I already pay tons of taxes being self employed and living in the highest cost area in the country 250k is not rich at all.

Just so you know,

1.  Real Estate Tax.
2.  income Tax
3.  NYC Surcharge Tax
4.  NYS Tax
5.  Energy Tax
6.  Sales Tax
7.  SS Tax

After all is said an done, there is not that much left over to make me feel like I am wealthy living in the NYC area.

NY State has one screwed tax system for you guys.  I have some friends there who make in excess of 250k in Buffalo.  They've told me about it.

As self employed I have to pay 15% tax for SS.

Real Estate taxes are crazy here and we get hosed with some of the highest energy taxes in the country as well.

Trust me, in NYC 250k per year is not rich at all.  Its upper middle class.
