Maybe his whole schtick is to get people to sign up for 36 nonrefundable sessions, then make them so miserable they quit after the first 5.  ;D

Just remember that you are the only one who really knows how you feel.  If it's good pain, then quit being a wimp.  If it's feeling more like an injury, tendonitis, whatever, then pull back.

being a personal trainer myself..i honestly think that's kinda shitty to just throw someone into hell and let them kick and scream their way out of it. I always give my clients a fitness test FIRST..and then upon that assessment decide what program i'll design for them based on their current fitness level and goals. You MUST get your clients acclimated to training before tearing them apart. Yeah initially they're going to be sore.. but if they're DYING during training and haven't fully recovered from their last workout, killing them again does more harm than good. I could express concern to your trainer to tone it down abit until you've recovered and then go from there. We all know around here on getbig that if you're still ridiculously sore, it's pointless to train the muscle groups again. You'll go into regression instead of progression.  I always tell my clients to take a sports multivitamin, ETS from atlarge nutrition with microlactin to kill doms, and a protien supplement to aid in recovery! might be worth looking into.
