BTW, Kimber compacts are notoriously unreliable and you could not pay me to carry one CCW.

x 2.

If you're going to carry one compact gun that'll either save or cost you your life, the Kimber wouldn't work for me.  Look at what the police in your city and those in the FBI carry.  There's a reason they pick sig, glock, beretta.  They go off every time.

That would be false my friend. You have to define for yourself what's practical, but I think I covered that pretty well above. Carry what you feel works for you, but there is nothing impractical per se about 1911s as already covered. I, like many others, carry one all the time.

I myself dont have one and prefer my Glocks.  I have literally put thousands and thousands of rounds over ten years  through my G17 and have never had a jam, a glich, or any problem whatsoever.  Best $500 I ever spent on a gun.

good call on that.  I had some glock misfires in the very beginning, when I was 20 years old and just learning to shoot - it was entirely due to me limpwristing the thing.

Haven't had a clock jam in my 12 years of carrying, since then.

If I only had one clear shot at the torso of a bad guy, you'd better believe I'd prefer it to be the 1911 over anything else not made by Mossberg.

I'm just more comfy with the concealment, lightweight, and fmailiarity of the glock.

Understood, and the drastic plastic has saved many a life. Not a Glock fan personally, but they do what hey are supposed to do...

It's all good. I look only to correct some miss understandings regarding 1911s vs bashing Glocks, which are reliable low maintenance guns and very popular.

FYI, even though I am not a big Glock fan, even I am tempted by what Robar is doing with Glocks:

After shooting many weapons, I still think Glock is the best bang for the buck, no pun intended.

In head to head comparisons by some very experienced shooters, the SA XD or the SnW MnP have been coming out on top over the Glock. Me, I don't like plastic in my guns... 8)

Exactly. Within reason, work with what you like, as long as it has a track record and makes sense. The .22 you have on you is always more effective than the .357 you left at home.

Very true!

BTW - as far as .22's go, my Ruger 10/22 is one great little rifle.
