If we eliminated welfare, would black women stop having so many bastard kids?

Danielson..in case you are truly interested in the phenomenon of black children not having fathers I will educate you that the reason this started was due to U.S government policies concerning welfare and food stamps and stuff......black families were stable up until the 1960's until government policy was that if there was a father in the home, the family could not be provided with aid......fathers had to leave the home in order for the family to receive help which started this trend in motion among poor blacks...I know for a fact that was definitely the policy here in NY city.....so in order to receive help, fathers had to live apart from their families.....GOVERNMENT  WELFARE POLICY ACTUALLY MADE BLACK MEN LEAVE THEIR FAMILIES!!!...and this is what began the trend of poor blacks being in fatherless homes.....something that then unfortunately became the norm...I'm sure Danielson, that if you were unemployed and your family needed help and the only way to get it was to walk away, you would do the same thing so that your children could eat...this destroyed many families in the minority community (and some in the white community as well)

My point Danielson is that things happen for a reason.....it doesn't just happen spontaneously....there is a cause and effect going on that you and many other whites are not aware of because you don't live in the inner city or know anyone from there..

I have a sneaking suspicion that you do not live in America. This theory sounds like something out of a European textbook on behavioral science in America.

There are more whites on welfare but thats because they formulate more than 3x the black population. Even then, its still close. As far as children born out of wedlock, the figure is around 60+% for blacks and nowhere near as high for whites or other races. That you can verify with a little research at any reputable website that charts these statistics.

No. Actually samson is making good points that are actually TRUE...I don't like his tone, but what he says is essentially true....If you go to any country in the world, the minority in that country will always have high levels of being on welfare, higher rates of illegitimacy, etc.......thats actually NORMAL.....due to their being repressed..so why should american blacks be different??...Samson is right that white Americans only see what they want to see and only want to know about the things that back up their view of themselves and others....they see themselves as being superior and don't want to look at the statistics that prove they have the same weaknesses and the same human frailties as everyone else.....and sometimes at levels higher than others....

this is true due to them being repressed is highly debateable...there are so many other factors that simply saying its b/c the are repressed is a cop out...In the same instance though you have others who are placed in similar situations and thrive, asians, even mexican american families who move here eventually level off on the number of children.
