Does anyone have any input on this???
« on: July 02, 2009, 12:32:33 PM »
20 question questionnaire of the entire musculosketal system to put into your database to ensure the optimal exercises for developing each body part for the individual to speak to their potential muscular hypertrophy.

A program for your musculoskeletal system to be measured, and get the most leverage advantageous exercises for your body,

Is this actually something that is out there, or is it bull???

Thanks for any and all input you can give me...

I believe it's called Kinesiology, and possibly a touch of Physiology.

Shouldn't be too tough to figure out on your own.... over a given period of time.

Empirical databases are even better. No?

SHUTUPANDTRAIN may want to follow his own advice and shut up and train (speaking of screen names).

As establishing training depth over most here, would he please offer any personal insight of his own experience using MS and CNS (the more important of them) training programs. I believe that Exercise Science or Sports Science (a label covering a lot of training research and real time experience)  was the term and subject he was seeking.

Probably database is the wrong wording, but SUAT can link to just about any major university, educational & sport training/exercise research project in the world.  Even some of the private ones. U.S. colleges have very good coverage, as does Canada (McGill for one). Russian university's have excellent studies. Though a little dated on some subjects perhaps. Actually the old Eastern Block schools offer excellent research also.

The home computer and search engines are things of wonder. Hopefully SUAT will take advantage of them and report back to GB on his findings. Good Luck.

Another 12 year old who has no idea what I am asking, but once again thanks for playing...

Let me spell it our moron, I heard (through channels) that there are people out there (trainers, etc.) that make specific workouts for your length width etc. of your bodyparts...If you do not know, then do not answer...Sometime (at least in your case)...Ignorance is Bliss...PEACE

Peace Upon You My Brother

Actually I am 37, the same number as your IQ. Small world after all.

The Russians and East Germans were famous for adapting a persons  basic body type (individual bone width/length/muscle/ligaments inserts, etc) and potential strength, speed and quickness. All starting from a small child.

All this information, process, strength/muscle adapting is easily found with-in the old training records on the web. East Germans seemed to keep much more detailed records, as good Germans are prone to do. China, at present, seem to be into this big time. Even studies with-in the U.S. are important.  Individual weight lifting programs are important part of the process.

Laws here prevent human engineering on a larger scale. Which might involve chemical and DNA tweaking. But there are trainer's and coaches who do this type of body adapting quite well, in SoCal alone, with special designed lifting programs. Cost big buck but can tap the greater potential of most would be athletes. Somewhat familar with the programs and training styles.

Actually I am not directing this to SUAT, so much as to the other guy's who may read this. SUAT just wants to vent. Might be hard for him to put his thought in plain English because of his unhappy state of mind. Good Luck.

Is this describing something specific you saw and are trying to validate, or are you inquiring if there’s a place or source that offers the service, or if it’s even possible?

IMO, if asking the right questions, then yes – it is possible to form and give an educated recommendation as to what exercises and routines would optimize hypertrophy gains; at least beyond blindly following a cookie-cutter regimen that so many PT’s prescribe.

I don’t know if questions about the musculoskeletal system exclusively would provide all the answers.
Presumably, good questions to ask would also include some secondary (i.e. not directly musculoskeletal related) questions that may shed light on your overall genetics:

1.) How do you train now – rep schemes, frequency, volume, etc.
2.) How long have you been training like this?
3.) How long have you been training in general?
4.) Regular diet information
5.) Well, you get the general idea…

Consideration of this kind of information can help deduce things that may work, have worked, and will work for the individual.
Results from various rep schemes can help determine if you have more Type I vs. II muscle fibers (or even if you’ve neglected one type), and thus, if it would benefit you to increase or decrease your weights used.
Dietary info can indicate nutritional deficiencies – if any.

These are just examples.
But I believe they illustrate the possibility that something like what is mentioned in your question is feasible.

The only reason I even answered in the first place was because nobody else did.

Your original post is ambiguous in it's entirety. Obviously, you are searching for some type of omnipotent overview on something that has absolutely nothing to do with anything scientifically objective.

The only thing that will go over my head here is your false interpretation of your ego. It was my belief that this board steered away from that type of thing.

If it makes you feel better to condescend, then enjoy your replies. Would you like to post up your pics and match them against mine? I have been in the business of fitness for over 30 years and I admit... I have no clue what you are talking about or what you are searching for.

This conversation is going in all the wrong directions.

nothing out there like that right now..

you'd have to take samples and studies of soooo many people on teh CELLULAR level to compile a database worth using that it's just obscene.
