Rarely do you see someone who was correct about the economy get treated like this. Think about it, he was right and gets shit on, but all the idiots who got it wrong get away scott free. Brutal.

To me Schiff is a waste of space.
The problem of healthcare in this country is it's "too expensive" and it's too expensive b/c of "government involvement?"
What fucking planet is this guy on?
The free market is great for some services and products. Health insurance is not one of those things.
If it weren't for Governmental intrustion into healthcare, private insurance would cost a shitload more than it does.
Why?
Medicare, Veterans healthcare and Medicaid. Those programs cover approximately 80 million people who are high risk - elderly, disabled, and veterans. Private insurance covers 198 million people--mostly young healthy people. So the gov. actually pays for more medical coverage than private insurance b/c gov. takes on the high risk cases.
Also, if it weren't for the tax incentives given by the government to private employers providing health insurance to employees, we'd have a much bigger mess than we do now.
Health insurance companies are into "denial management" to make money. Denying coverage. That's the ticket for a private insurance company.
Mr. Schiff should call all the other modern countries in the world that have UHC and better results and tell them, "You're doing it wrong! See, the magic of the free market really does work!"
Of course he wouldn't do that b/c he'd be wrong. So he lies about the reasons for why healthcare is so expensive so that it fits his prejudic...his bogeyman...that he and his nutty father have set up as the 'bad guy' - the federal government.
Yet another reason that today's libertarianism fails. It's divorced from reality.
