Interesting replies. I tend to diet not too strict, fairly strict but I absolutely HATE dieting and usually struggle to get lean. This happens to be the ONE TIME in my life that I am finding success, and i will be DAMNED if binging on bad food to deal with stress will completely derail me! I get so frustrated when I see thin lean people who have no prob staying that way. I really have to work at it. The trade-off being I can get big/strong insanely fast, but let's be real who gets more play thinner guys or big beefy guys? You do the math. I am a little worried it will become common place since it's fairly easy for me to do, which is why I ask. When should I be worried?
I get the impression that you are becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy and you are fighting something that you have already perceived as a losing battle before you can reach your end goal. I think that the body-type groups ectomorph, mesomorph, endomorph that people categorize themself under are also an example of making life harder for yourself. Forget about your perceived rate of metabolism, your genetics, you compared to others and just try to relax a little. I know it's easy to have the "why should I bother when the odds are against me?" kind of attitude, but behind every positive fruition is a small spec of positive imagination.

Mike, you need to realize YOU are in control of what you put in your mouth.  You don't want to start down this path.

I've read that eating disorders are often a sign that the person feels they are not in control of something (or anything) in their life.  Then they take control of the food in this way.

It's bad for your teeth, it's bad for your throat etc...and at some point you may not be able to stop.

Can you see that being a bulimic man could impede some "play?"

Yes Stella, before Mike gets down to play he stuffs his new girls toothbrush down his throat as the final seduction move, he raises an eyebrow to her as he then pukes all over the floor!! She cannot resist!

I see his logic

Interesting thoughts. it's funny that the one time I am making great progress, I am so terrified of going backwards that I risk hurting myself to continue forward. We will see, if it happens again I'll consider getting help. It's just SO easy to eat whatever you want, then purge and go to sleep happy and wake up looking great. It's always a battle for me, being carb sensitive one cheat meal will have me looking like CRAP for days and I'm not kidding.

Like someone said, get that stuff out of your house.

I take it you are not doing a show, in which case your panic would be more understandable.

Maybe you could alleviate some of the terror of going backwards in realizing that you could get hit by a bus tomorrow and die.  Is it really worth all the worry about having a "perfect" physique?  It's not.

When it comes down to it, it really does not matter if you screw up and look like crap (to yourself) for days.  It's better to be healthy and in control of yourself.  You sound very hard on yourself.  You cannot let this overtake your life.   ....hey I haven't been able to train in a few weeks and I feel like a blob.  I know that I can get back to where I want to be...it will be OK.  You'll be OK too :)

Define "carb sensitive"?

For example I was down to 212 then on weds night I had a nice big dinner with my parents. I had ribs sweet potatoes ice cream etc. Spent most of thursday feeling sluggish and crappy. Slept much of the day. DId not work out. Friday I was up to 216 pushing 217. THAT is carb fucking sensitive. Took me till tuesday to get my weight back down to 212. You guys do not understand- my body is willing but unforgiving. If I stay on the path I progress insanely fast, one misstep and I fall off completely and struggle to get back on.

Could you not assign that weight gain to glycogen stores being increased by the carbohydrates in the food? The average body can hold 2000 plus calories worth of carbs without increasing fat stores, at least it wasn't fat you put on because a pound of fat contains 3500 calories and I doubt you went from 212-217 with it all being fat. Maybe you hold water, fair enough, but at least it's not as difficult to shed as fat.

You are right, but it's extremely discouraging to be getting lean and mean and feeling light on your feet to struggling to lightly job because you are holding several pounds of water from ONE cheat meal! It's insanely frustrating not to mention I look like crap when I am holding all the water. The better you look/feel the more encouraged you become and vice versa.

I get you. "Cheat" meals or whatever people like to call them can be a double-edged sword, sometimes they suck you in and make you tighter/drier, sometimes they do the opposite, have you tried dandelion root tea/capsules to shed the water? It's that effective the word dandelion in French means "Wet the bed" ha.

Um no I haven't tried it. I have never really put a lot of credence into herbal diuretics except for asparagus which works quite well for me. My problem is carb sens but also I have naturally high estrogen levels. Makes my water problems double what they would be for normal people and losing fat is a bit tougher. My thighs and lower abs look terrible compared to the rest of my body for example. I forget which anti-E works well on this. I remember Duchaine using nolvadex on female bber's to tighten these areas up but im not sure.

It's very good stuff, you can get it in liquid form also which is concentrated. Dandelion contains a lot of potassium and the way it removes water from your body is different to other diuretics as it doesn't remove potassium aswell so it should keep you looking full as the cells will be hydrated. Estrogen production should grind to a halt once your bodyfat is low enough with a bit of luck.

That's what I am hoping for! I have had success in the past but it's a bitch. Much easier for me to bulk, cutting is not so much fun :(
